Thank you Chargers for all the memories over the years. I've been a fan since I was a kid, my Dad was a fan too.

I'm sad because other than Gates, Rivers, Weddle and Floyd no one on that team or coaching staff was a part of the good days here.

I was there the night before they went to the Super Bowl at the Q, when Bobby Ross gave his speach, the whole city seemed to be there, it was so loud that the Stadium shook and as a kid I thought the place was going to crumble.

Even after they lost, we still gave them a parade.

I was there for LT era too, with Marty Ball and everything that went with it. You couldn't go anywhere in this county without seeing Chargers gear everywhere you went.

Thank you again Chargers, any other fans should say there favorite memories, players etc.
>>
The funny part is Los Angeles fans don't even want the Chargers. They're the third favorite choice but the most likely one that'll move after reading the news

>Raiders are moving to St Louis

Unlikely, Mark Davis doesn't want to go to St. Louis, like even if he doesn't stay in Oakland and doesn't move to L.A. he's already ruled out St. Louis.

The NFL meanwhile wants the Raiders to share a stadium with the 49ers.
>>
>>64371428
OK then there is no evidence of this deal existing

Rams and Chargers will both move to Los Angeles

Raiders will share a stadium with the 49ers at Santa Clara but probably continue to call themselves Oakland Raiders.

Sorry, bros.
>>
If the Carson plan fails (spoiler: it will) the Raiders are either going to sign year-to-year leases in O.co or be forced to bunk with the nanners. There's no way Mark Davis goes to Inglewood with the Rams.

>>

The NFL didn't agree to that funding plan.

The NFL said they were only going to pitch in $200 million and that St. Louis kind of pissed them off by approving $300 million so that may have set their plan back.

Not to mention that the plan isn't binding in any way at this point.

And there's no way they're getting Kroenke to agree to provide any funding for their stadium project.

If it makes you Chargers fans feel any better, LA won't give a shit about a NFL team and they'll be back in Sandy Eggo in a decade or less

>>
>>64371691
LA might care about an NFL team, they supported the Rams and Raiders pretty well back when they had both.

But the Rams owner sabotaged the team in LA so she could move them to her home town of St. Louis and Al Davis left LA for the same reason he left Oakland, to chase a stadium deal that never materialized. It had nothing to do with the market.

That said, the Chargers are never going to be LA's team. If the Raiders or the Rams move back, they own that market. If the Chargers move by themselves then the city will just continue not caring about professional football.
>>
>>64371788
It wouldn't change anything if the NY Giants moved to Syracuse. They played in New Jersey FFS. New York fans still supported them.

The 49ers stadium was built to accomodate 2 teams.

They don't want the Raiders there and the Raiders don't want to be there but the NFL specified that their stadium be built to eventually house 2 teams.

Pretty obvious what the plan is there.

The Raiders just want no part of it but it's likely going to be where they end up when they fail to get a stadium anywhere else.

>>64371829
As large of a market as LA is you'd think that they could easily support an NFL team, but they never have. Ownership moves aside, the rams never had good fan attendance and their team was average at times but mostly terrible for decades. The Raiders were only popular in LA because of branding, especially with the hip hop crowd. They were good in the early '80s but most of the decade and even the '90s they were terrible. Moving a losing team to LA won't put asses in the seats, LA has proved that.

>>64372089
I'm not the type of person to reward a lack of loyalty with more of mine. Anons not from So Cal might not understand it, and Los Angelinos might respond with their "We don't care about anyone but LA. Everywhere but LA is irrelevant" meme, but San Diegans have a huge rivalry with LA. We fucking hate the place. The Chargers could have moved anywhere but there and not be as offensive to SD as moving to LA is. Moving the team is a stab in the back of every fan like myself who has stood by the team through thick and thin and been an example of what it means to be a die hard fan. Moving it to LA of all places might as well be them twisting the knife. If they moved somewhere else, I'd consider sticking with them. If they move to LA though? No can do. I have too much self-respect to continue supporting a team owned by a man that didn't appreciate my fandom enough to keep it where it has called home for all but one year of its existence.
>>
How come nobody thinks the Raiders will go? Is it because of how passive the owner is during the whole shabang? After all, we all know LA wants the Raiders more than affordable housing. Whereas the Chargers *do* have something on the table in SD, albeit not as much as they could have.

>>
>>64372637
Mark Davis is the smallest of the small fries in the NFL. He has no outside income, all his money comes from owning the Raiders.

The NFL doesn't want him to be their representative in the LA market.

Aside from that, the only way the Raiders were going is with a partnership like the one they have with the Chargers.

If the Chargers back out or partner with the Rams then the Raiders can't afford to go to LA.

But what about the possibility of a Raiders/Rams shacking up? Then LA would get the only teams they actually care about.
>>
>>64372627
This is what happens when your GM isnt actually a fan of the team and is just trying to make as much money as possible
>>
>>64372637
Because they can't go on their own, Mark is adamant about being in his own stadium, the Carson plan is about as strong as a wet tissue, and Stan is going to move this offseason regardless of what the other owners say.
>>
>>64372757
Personally I wouldn't be too mad with it. Where would the A's go though?
>>
>>64372760
It theoretically could happen but Mark Davis is riding or dying with Spanos.

Spanos doesn't want to shack up with the Rams either but when he eventually comes to the conclusion that the Raiders aren't a viable partner he might dump them for the Rams because at the end of the day he's more cheap than he is prideful.

>Many of the NFL's most influential owners, including some on the league's Los Angeles Relocation committee, continue to have reservations about the Raiders' inclusion in the joint project with the Chargers in Carson, Calif. Their concerns over the strength of the Raiders' ownership group could result in no teams getting approval to move to LA in 2016, ownership sources said. Furthermore, multiple ownership sources said that the odds of a move happening to LA next year would be significantly higher if the Chargers were either moving by themselves, or if they were paired with the Rams.

>Other owners have doubts about whether or not Raiders owner Mark Davis has the acumen to build a strong franchise in a two-team LA market, sources said. And, given that organization's repeated moves under former owner Al Davis and the controversy that ensued -- including suing the league -- there remains a backlash to the Raiders going back to LA.

>Finding a way to get Spanos and Rams owner Stan Kroenke together is viewed as the best-case scenario for a two-team LA market, and although consideration hurdles exist, it may not be impossible if a vote is pushed back to 2017.

I'm sorry, but did the Chargers already move? Oh, that's right. The season isn't even over yet. In fact, there are two more games. Does leaving San Diego after this game count as a move? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this topic when the season is still on? The Chargers are still playing right now and they have been the best team in the AFC West for how many years now? They're playing one of the worst teams in the NFL who just happen be shit because they're not feeding off the vibrant sexual energy of Philip Rivers. But you know what? They still fucking suck. The Chargers are one of the best fucking teams in the NFL, they went 9-7 last year and would of won the Super Bowl if the entire team didn't choke. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when the Chargers stay right where they are and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, the some wealthy Jewish Banker just broke out his check book whenthey needed to get one, just like the Rams. Are you a fucking drunk? Are you retarded? Are you autistic? Fans in the Dawg Pound became so unruly during their final home game against the Bengals that all offensive plays had to be run from the opposite end of the field. Rows of empty seats were torn from the stadium and thrown on the field. Stalls and sinks in the restrooms were torn from the walls. Several fans set fires in the stands, especially in the "Dawg Pound" section, and assaulted security officials and police officers who tried to quench the growing fires.[112]

My soul hurts knowing this may be the last time we all see Rivers, but i am not getting over Weddle leaving after this season and Malcom Floyd retiring after this season

Dude, Malcolm's send off at the stadium was so bittersweet. I was bummed Rivers didn't give him one last TD when they were in the red zone. Especially since he was wide open in a cross route mid endzone. Would have been as picturesque an end for his career at home as he could have.

Move the Chargers to Virginia Beach, then they can keep all their Navy / Coast Guard fans. It's basically a mini San Diego, but with black people instead of Mexicans.

Don't you guys see what's happening?

The Raiders are gonna end up shacking up with the Rams

Then the Rams are gonna end up paying the Chargers the relocation fee so Spanos can get a new stadium in San Diego
>>
>>64383651
I've heard that before but I'm still 50/50 on everything. Would Stan really pay the relocation fee?

>In a letter sent last week to the owners’ committee overseeing the league’s return to the Los Angeles area, the country’s second-largest market, the Chargers’ chairman, Dean Spanos, dismissed an overture by the St. Louis Rams’ owner, E. Stanley Kroenke, who said he was willing to let a second team invest in a rival stadium that he hoped to build in Inglewood, Calif.

>“Nothing in Stan’s letter gives me any reason to reconsider my partnership with Mark Davis and our chosen stadium site,” Mr. Spanos wrote, referring to the owner of the Raiders. “I firmly believe that the proposal we have jointly made is in the best interests of the entire league and is in complete compliance with the league’s relocation policies.”
