I don't think so. You could watch the subtly-autistic documentary "Football Manager: An Alternative Reality", or read "Football Manager Stole My Life" (both available on the internet for free) if you want to know a little bit more how it's made, but >miles and si are really tight on their secrets.
Even though it isn't hard to program a game like this. You just input the player names, give them attributes and then create a match engine (doesn't need to be visual, CM 01\02 wasn't) that uses all these attributes.
Then you'd start programming training and its effects on attributes, transfers, leagues, etc.
Not that hard to do.

i don't have as much experience as most of the tripfags but in my experience: never loan a player if he doesn't start for the team, just makes no sense. also, often the facilities at the club you're loaning him to are worse. so i'd keep him playing for your u19s until he's good enough to play some games for you.
i usually loan players out that look like they could make it but they never really do. the really good regens will never have to be loaned out i think.

I always recommend the very top with a massive club. Yes you will get fired a lot quicker for fucking up but you have the financial resources to do anything and a great squad of players to experiment with.
Others say you should start lower so you are afforded more time if you fuck up but I think being able to experiment and fuck about with huge sums of money without it being of massive consequence is a good place to start and just start again at another big club if you get sacked too soon and repeat until you start feeling confident then move to something a bit harder.
