Heem, I feel ashamed and disgusted with myself. On the way to work earlier I witnessed a guy getting mugged. He was on the receiving end of some viscous ground and pound and getting stabbed by the sharp end of a broken bottle. Some people ran, or others just ignored but I went right up to to the guy with a few others and stood there in a state of shock. The scumbag eventually ran off but I should have done something about it. This is one of the things I keep hearing on here, that Keven Lee is racist because he called Sage a Privileged White Boy. Sorry but I don't see how that is racist.
First of All Sage is Privileged. Lets not even pretend he isn't. The guy had a strict dad who made him do exercises everyday, had a near perfect nutrition plan made up of Protein shakes/Pancakes, was enrolled in TMA/Wrestling since he was like 5....Sorry but the guy had a huge and I mean huge privileged life.
Now lets compare this to Kevin Lee who was raised in Detroit, guy probably had to seek becoming an MMA fighter, had to seek becoming a wrestler and he to be his own motivation, on top of not getting proper nutrition like Sage...It is much harder.
Compare Sage to most other self made MMA fighters...Conor(had to go on welfare/was a plumber), Jose Aldo(Did BJJ/capoeira), basically all MMA fighters had shitty nutrition, No know it all Dad, none of the crap SAGE has.
2nd of all People get fixated on the fact that he mentions Privileged "WHITE" boy.....As him mentioning white is racist.
Lets be honest Sage is a upper class kid from a white family....Why is being "white" important? Well Trophy Kids is mostly a White Culture phenomena since most of the upper class is white(I have seen black/asian/lation trophy kids as well)...When people are that rich like SAGE's family, they can afford to have trophy kids...and SAGE without a doubt is a trophy kid.
Im sure alot of us, including Kevin Lee, have seen these trophy kids when we were growing up, so of course Kevin Lee is gonna call him out on his privilege...specially when Kevin Lee is from a place full of poverty and he probably competed against trophy kids who were mostly white during school.
