you literally haven't watched him or ponder play if you equate him to ponder

he has an OC who doesn't call plays to his strengths (intermediate passes), WRs who fit teddy's style. An RB who runs out of a formation which doesn't fit the pass game at all. Seahawks blitzed Teddy 6.1% of time yesterday and pressured him 39.4%. Yet Norval Eugene Turner keeps calling the plays he calls out of the formation he changed to fit Adrian who when shut down (like he has in the 4 losses the vikings have had) shuts down the whole offense. Watch how he played this time last year (without adrian).

Teddy's deep balls are shit, but he doesn't have to throw deep balls all the time. His intermediate and short passes is where he'll make his living. And Teddy doesn't have issues with fundamentals like Ponder had.

Teddy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ponder you fucking mong.

I like to think Madden is less about schemes and more about having a cannon arm QB, and a speedy WR and running dragons all day. I put him as a #4 WR and throw trash routes to the others all day to get them tired and subsituted for the #3 and #4 options, then audible out of 2wr sets for him to go deep and insta TD.

Thats why I got Janis (for some reason he was the fastest WR left), mainly because he has enough speed to get deep and a decent jumping rating to outjump defenders

And screen passes are pretty good too. People often try to blitz every down so I use a HB screen with woodhead and get 3 lead blockers in front of the secondary (mainly). And so I got fast lineman, some decent blocking WRs and then a good TE for the red zone. I like to think it'll work fine.

Only main problem is route running from the WRs, they won't get open easily

Heroes & Villains: Battle of Ohio has been won
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000596394/article/heroes-villains-battle-of-ohio-has-been-won

>I can't help but think back to the league meetings in Phoenix last March. Around the NFL's Conor Orr and I were grabbing dinner at the hotel bar after a long day whenCardinalscoach Bruce Arians strolled in with Steve Keim, the team's talented general manager. We noticed right away how they happily sat together, talking, laughing and living it up. Two peas in a pod.

>It begins right there. With two people who want to work together, putting aside ego and fighting for something lasting. In the NFL, that fire-tested partnership is what attracts scouts, talent evaluators, assistant coaches, players, fans andSuper Bowls.

Owner is tanking the team and is only going to bother making it good again when/if he can move the team to LA and fuck its fanbase over

>Browns
Entire organization is hopelessly shit and likely never going to improve

>Giants
Beloved coach for three Super Bowl teams is probably going to lose his job because his GM gives him shit personnel and he has to make more aggressive playcalls than he needs to because his defense is a fucking dumpster fire

>Jaguars
Hopes of a playoff season dashed because their coach can't call plays in the red zone and their secondary can't cover or tackle anyone even though they run the same meme scheme Seattle does

The main issue is that Bridgewater and Peterson contradict each others skillset at the moment. To use Bridgewater to his strength, you have to put Peterson in formations where he's shit. To maximize Peterson, you have to put Bridgewater in formations where he struggles.

They need to iron that shit out in the offseason or they might as well get rid of Peterson.

problem is you have to draft actually good players to run the meme scheme

Cyprien is a terrible strong safety from a terrible strong safety draft class , there is no free safety on the team and apart from Colvin and Davon House the corners are horrible

the BIGGEST problem is that Jacksonville has no pass rush whatsoever. QBs have all day to throw, meaning the already not-so-good corners have to cover for 10 seconds.

At least Seattle has Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril
>>
>>64071413
Without him and with Murray taking touches away from Sproles and Mathews

Also, you can't really have the last laugh when they haven't played yet.

Give it two years. If Alonso is a Pro Bowl LB and McCoy is washed up, it was a good decision. RBs come and go, and McCoy never led to any playoff wins.
FTFY.

Bridgewater:

Bortles:
>27 TDs 13 INT 3274 yards 57.7% completion 86.8 rating
Carr:
>26 TDs 9 INT 3178 yards 63.6% completion 97.7 rating

Carr easily has the best receivers, but still.
>>
>>64071640

He's a fine young QB. He's taken a beaten though and is clearly getting shellshocked from it. He's grown more indecisive and uncertain as the season goes on. They are going to David Carr him if they aren't careful. Those line needs to be overhauled in the offseason.

I'm not being a fag, you're being an over-reactionary absolutist.

With Mathews and Sproles, they have a running game. With Murray being directed to run outside, they don't have as much of one. It's still there. How can you say they have no running game when they had the longest streak of 150+ yards rushing in the entire league?

Yes, Murray was a waste.
No, Kiko will probably have off season surgery and have a fine career. He's got upside when healthy and has a longer remaining career than McCoy. If he's half as good as Trotter in his prime, it's a solid trade. That's the difference between RB and ILB.

I don't think so, but I think they'll make it. They're on the fringe of being a great overall team.

Wins: Texans before they got their shit together, a beat up Steelers team led by Landon Jones, the Lions, Broncos after they gave up hope with Manning, the hapless Chargers, the Bills and Raiders are somewhat fraudulent.

Losses: Broncos before they were truly exposed but with great defense, Packers, Bengals, Bears, and Vikings

They're very clearly defined by the teams that have beaten them. When faced against a class of teams that are expecting to be playoff contenders, they've fallen short.

PFF has him graded as the worst CB in the league, even before yesterday.

As a Seahawks fan, I can tell you Browner is a terrible corner who only became worse with the emphasis on illegal contact and PI.

How about their notoriously hard hitting and stingy bend dont break defense (aside from garbage time points)
The offense can't really do much worse than the Colts in the 2006 post season as long as the offensive attack is lead by the star studded dynamic backfield duo of Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner
>>
>>64072368
Palmer is more than decent. Cards were 9-1 last year before he went down.

Vikings are still playoff contenders. The Bears aren't likely to make a playoff run. That doesn't change the fact that the Chiefs have lost to playoff caliber teams playing at playoff caliber form.

They only play the Chargers, Ravens, Browns, and Raiders again left. Those a re 4 teams they should shit on if they are a playoff team. There's still time to be dominant and get rolling. There's also time to have a 10 game win streak and then choke in round 1.

who all is getting fired this year?
We've already had Wis and Philbin.
I think Fisher and Peyton. MAYBE Tomsula (and if so, it's just because Jed wants to hire Peyton or someone else instead). MAYBE Harbaugh.
Coughlin retires.
Bradley, Mccoy and Caldwell, conversely, keep their jobs. Or at least, they should.
One more controversial statement: Dom Capers doesn't get fired after Green Bay has a first round playoff exit.

the seahawks secondary is definitely a system

CB2 is the odd man out in the system. Their job is to simply be able to hold their own. They will automatically be the worst piece of the group, and because of that, they will get targeted a lot. As a result, they get a lot of opportunities to get interceptions.

Cary Williams problem was that he couldn't hold his own. Dude can't even turn his head around. Seahawks liked him because of his body and his physicality, but he doesn't have the mind for the position.
>>
>>64072373
Don't get ahead of yourself.

>>64072316
Wut. There's the talent to be a CB1. For a 5 or 6 game stretch, Maxwell had the 3rd lowest passer rating against and gave up minimal scoring. The real problem is utilizing the talent, and the defensive co-ordinator neglected to keep the scheme fresh and adaptable. They played dominant for about a month and then teams figured it out and shit on them for a month. If you actually watch the team it's a scheme issue and a snpwball effect more than lack of talent.
>>
>>64072459
Harbaugh is safe, even if he keeps that terrible excuse of a DC
I could legitimately see people try to trade for Payton first rather than him being outright fired
McCoy will fire the staff needed to keep his job alive
I don't think Caldwell survives; Martha Ford looks like she means business.
As much as I would like for Gus to be fired, looking at the possible hires there's not much to replace him
>>
>>64072648
I think Caldwell deserves his job, so does McCoy. I don't know what to think of Gus, but the team improves every year. I think giving the team stability and letting Bradley stay to play it out is the smartest choice.
Payton will probably be traded for, I guess, idk. Harbaugh is safe probably just off of precedent, but he really shouldn't be.

Every non-Jags fan that talks about Gus goes on and on about how the team was absolutely unwatchable in the first two years he was coaching and now they look like they actually have an offense.

but my main problem with the stability argument is that the defense he was hired to coach hasn't gotten better in the 3 years he's been here. Only the offense has, which he has no involvement in. Yes he was handed nothing to build off of but he's had time
>>
>>64073067
Got it from Ian Memepoport on Twitter, senpai.
>>
>>64073094
he doesn't manage the draft though. he was given a team to change the defense, and then they drafted offense for three years. this year was the first time they drafted a defensive player in the first since Bradley was installed, and we all know what happened with that. If anyone expected improvement on the defensive side of the ball they're silly.

they focused on defense in his first year but that was the 2013 draft class which we know what most people think about it.

and in the second year they drafted Telvin Smith (who is actually good) and Aaron Colvin (average)

maybe Gus does get too much flak compared to the GM, but it still shouldn't take 4 years to build a defense
>>
Jason witten just made history
>>
>>64074691
They tried to moneyball it. Get a bunch of middle and lower level fas and build through the draft

Like steelers, Giants, packers

Doesn't work unless you have s franchise qb who can put up numbers and at that point you have to pay the qb

And it shouldn't take 3 years I agree
>>
>>64074691
sure it should. look at Ron Rivera, who I thought was cannon fodder a couple years ago. His teams were docile and boring, but that's because he was building something and his qb was young and raw. And look at Cleveland, who've had at least two good coaches in the last half decade and they're probably gonna be looking for another one anyways because their teams can't improve in a one year span.

There have been coaches in the NFL who have lost their jobs after three season with these exact records. The Panthers ALSO got their franchise QB in Rivera's first year, and already had more talent when Rivera came in than Gus Bradley has even now. The Jaguars are a depressingly talentless team.

I do pity/like the Jags because they were so good near the beginning of their existence, but since Brunell left, they seem to have been lost at QB. I'm curious if Bortles is going to be that guy who can stick around and be at least a solid franchise QB.

Yes.

Second highest career passer rating behind Rodgers.

What that stat leaves out is Rodgers sat out his first three years behind Favre -- and most QBs have their worst rating in their true rookie years, which Rodgers skipped.

He's consistently efficient with the ball at a level no other QB has, and he's still young. Being this good, this consistently, this early, he has the potential to be the GOAT.

But he plays on a team with a first-ballot HoF running back and no big-name receivers (which means he doesn't throw for gaudy numbers every game), so he doesn't get the credit he deserves, imo.

But, I'm a minority; my choice for GOAT QB is Steve Young.

>racists

G'day cunts. I have just returned from a three week ban due to an elite and very muscular shitposting spree that I committed across multiple boards. I did the crime, I did the time, and now I am back and ready to discuss some sports. And what better thread to start off with than an /iggles/ general.

A lot has happened since I last posted.

Let's talk about how the Iggles have the best RB duo in the league who are all consistently putting up good numbers. Of course I am speaking of the dynamic and unstoppable combo of the bell cow workhorses named Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner.

Let's talk about how the Iggles high octane high scoring D/ST being literally unstoppable even by the two best to ever do it.

Let's talk about how their notoriously hard hitting and stingy bend dont break defense (aside from garbage time points)

Let's talk about how the redskins are only relevant in SJW ad campaigns to get them to change their name, and not for any prowess on the gridiron at all.

Let's talk about how the Cowshemales' season is over and how they will fade into irrelevancy again, as they always do during the course of a season where they show 'promise' at the beginning.
>Let's talk about ALL THREE OF MUH FIRST ROUND PICKS B-U-S-T-I-N-G
>t-theres no way all will bust y-your delusional
>can barely score against the shitskins
>muh four first round draft picks
Let's talk about how the Poo Pork Gay Ants have a terrible football team after they have been talking a whole bunch of shit about Basedadelphia.
Let's talk about how they are a literaly 'meme team'. le i support le team that caused 18-1 le xdxdxd.
Literally a meme 'team' because they are a literal reddit tier 'meme'. and as a result their 'fans' are 'meme fans'.
>2015

Do I miss having a receiver that could take the top off a defense? Yes.

Do I miss DeSean? No.

As amazing as he was to watch, he changed after the Miracle at the New Meadowlands. Every single punt return became after that a farce since he wanted to repeat a freak accident. We started a drinking game about him running backwards - take a drink for every 5 yards he'd lose.

He quit on the team in 2011 and 2012. In he had his best season, but disappeared after like week 9 or 10 and didn't do shit except for a great game against the Vikings...which he proceeded to ruin by chimping out on the sidelines and locker room. Actually, the whole last season, every target he risked it being a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for doing something stupid.

Nah man Wilson has been playing lights out lately. He's carrying that team. He's basically calling every play now. Since the shitty start the offense has been his. I'm looking for the quote an anon player gave about it.
The player was saying we had to change the offense so we put it all on Wilson.

Wilson is calling plays like manning in his heyday

He would likely be having his best season ever if he wasn't dedded. And if Bell didn't die either. Jesus Bell had almost 1/3 of that teams total yards on offense last year and they don't have it this year.

>>
>>64079366
not that hard of a prediction to make, considering the chiefs had the easiest remaining schedule and the vikings one of the hardest remaining
>>
>>64079382
The chiefs unless they lose are virtually a lock for the 5th seed and their opponents are
>San Diego, Baltimore, Cleveland, and Oakland
The Oakland game easily being the toughest.
Whoever wins the AFC south is the 4 seed no matter what. Even if the Chiefs lose a game they hold tiebreakers over everyone and the Steelers have to play the Bengals and Broncos and the Jets play the Patriots.
>>
>>64079366
God, I'm so sorry, but I must keep posting this, because if I don't, something Scarletism worked really hard on will die

So yeah, just a quick reference thingy since we're at the season halfway point now. This is every team's strength of schedule change sorted by rank distance. For example, the Titans had the 25th hardest schedule so far (looking only at the games every team played), and they will have the 6th hardest schedule from here on out (looking only at the games left to play for every team), so the difference is -19. Obviously a negative number means the second half of the season will be harder, and positive numbers mean it will be easier, statistically speaking anyways.

30 Kansas City Chiefs
28 Indianapolis Colts
27 Jacksonville Jaguars
15 Baltimore Ravens
15 New Orleans Saints
15 San Francisco 49ers
14 Washington Redskins
13 Green Bay Packers
11 St. Louis Rams
8 Oakland Raiders
8 Pittsburgh Steelers
6 Seattle Seahawks
5 Carolina Panthers
5 Cleveland Browns
5 Detroit Lions
4 Dallas Cowboys
0 Miami Dolphins
0 New York Jets
0 Philadelphia Eagles
-2 Buffalo Bills
-6 Chicago Bears
-8 Cincinnati Bengals
-8 San Diego Chargers
-11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-12 New England Patriots
-17 Houston Texans
-18 Denver Broncos
-19 Tennessee Titans
-27 Atlanta Falcons
-27 New York Giants
-28 Arizona Cardinals
-29 Minnesota Vikings
