As much as I feel sorry for Heidfeld, he had a low peak, just like Alonso. He was great in less stellar cars, but he should've outscored Kubica by a bigger margin than he did. Potential happenings with the Multicast setup thing. Gotta go and clean the mess that is my router up first, but I've got a pretty clear idea of what to do.
So in my head here's how it will work.

On here I have all the F1 seasons from 1991-2014. Using VLC Server I'll create a multicast stream to play a set of videos each day based on the request of the general. The G5 then connects to the internet over my Home Router.

Using my router I'm going to open up the ports to the G5. I may have to DMZ those ports to allow full access, and since I don't have a static ip believe I need to use a ddns from no-ip. From there the VLC multicast stream should be broadcasting through router into the internet accessible via the no-ip ddns.

Viewing it should be a matter of just copy paste really, for it to really work I think you may have to open up a port to allow the multicast to work with others or it may just be a default feature not sure about it yet, but seeing as only a few people will be using it, we should be okay.
Because we are going to use mulicast or some variant of it, I only have to provide one stream so my network wont become kill, and then the rest will be handled by the other machines sharing the content in addition to grabbing it off mine. In theory for our group we should be just fine, if there are internet speed issues, I may be upgrading within the next few weeks so that could take care of that, and seeing as I use the G5 for lel's and backup anyway the cost of running this will be nothing.
If someone noticed that I fucked up a step or something let me know, but I hope I can get this working within the next few days.

G5 is just refusing in every way to run said stream, just trying to run it locally seems to be freaking the entire machine out to the point where it refuses to take commands via SSH and so on. I've dragged out another older desktop my Dell Dimension 8400, in an attempt to use Linux (more modern than the G5's Leopard) to solve my issues.
I don't think my network is too slow, it should be able to easily manage a local stream, and I am thinking the crap quality was due to the G5 flipping out under any form of GPU load. So I may throw a few dollars at it and get a better GPU for the Dell (cheaper than G5, and see how that works out).
TLDR it's getting much closer, it's just not there yet.

It's going to be at least 1 week before we have a chance of it going live.
In terms of network setup, I'm pretty much done with it at this point, I've got to run a few more tests and do a bit of optimization and such, but for the most part it does as asked.
The only problem is the hardware, the two desktops I have lying around are just too slow to even begin to transcode the stream properly so regardless of the internet speed it chokes in the conversion process. So my plan is to get some replacment parts for the G5, since I really like the case, and the hardware in that is beyond useless for the power draw. I'm going to repurpose the PSU, so really I just need to get my hands on a more powerful CPU/Mobo, and then a GPU, I have enough drives, and can hunt for some RAM from other machines I have lying around.
Once that happens I don't think we are going to have any issues, it might require a bit of configuration on your end for the good of the stream (opening ports to seed).

Putting together some costs atm senpai. Again the plan is to use the G5 factory PSU, I'll have to modify the pinout however, but from what I've seen it's possible and will save a good 40+ dollars. RAM, and GPU will be given to me by a friend who has some spare bit's he's not using.
So really it all boils down to time and selection honestly. I'm really only considering the latter two the Q6600 and Q9950, as they are plug and play with my OS of choice and offer tons of power, the AMD will flip shit at OS X and has a potential to be unstable when the 4th core is enabled. While the Xeon requires a modified socket, which I would be willing to do, but not for the savings of 2 dollars. Mounting it in the case is going to be fun, I'm sure it wont be terribly difficult, yet it's not something I'm looking forward to. Drive cages to hold the few random hard drives I have lying around will go in the top, and I'm prob going to delete the CD drive, no need for it really.

On intel hardware as long as you get the right GPU, it's nearly plug and play. Just have to download the retail ISO, and then just use a custom bootloader. Yeah, but it's one step below Gentoo, and the only version of Linux I know how to "use". That's the thing I have to figure out, just a bit of testing really. I always wanted a bit more power from my home server, I guess /f1/ gave me the reason to jump ship. I know OS X is pretty heavy with the visual enhancements, but so I may have to pick up a better GPU, but I need to see if VLC will take advantage of a GPU with dedicated encoding. I think I'm going to order the Q9550 CPU and MB, and then wait to see if I can get by with the free GPU or if I'm back to eBay.

Honda have the same problem that Ferrari had in 2014. It's very easily fixable, they just can't do it in the middle of a season. As much as I hope it won't be the case, it's very likely that McLaren will do very well next year.

ART have been the clear best team in GP2 for some time now, their nearest competition is DAMS who have Williams-tier strategy and pit stops.
Paired with a Will Stevens-level teammate in Matsushita, Vandoorne looks like a god in comparison and is rarely threatened for a win because of it.
Put Stoffel in F1 and he'll be a Di Resta at best.

I'm still a newbie, but I do have a few 1:43 models. Minichamps is the obvious go-to choice if you're on a budget (same for Hot Wheels for Ferrari and Onyx for older cars, though the Onyx models sometimes look like utter shit). Beyond that, I don't know many companies that make higher quality models. Red Line have a few very neat Ferraris, I think.
There's also a few companies that make buildable kits instead, but I also know very little about those. They're usually for more technically inclined collectors, I think.

It depends on what you can afford and how much you feel like spending. 1:43s are more than fine enough for me, but 1:18s are better in every way if you can afford them.
