Shocking.

Your best wins of the season would be losses if you were playing us that day and you know it. You couldn't stop Samaje Perine last year loading 9 in the box knowing we couldn't throw. You think youre going to beat Mayfield (the best qb in the nation), Shepard (best WR) and the best RB duo hands down since Bush and White?

Rankings 1-4 are entirely meaningless anyway. It's ESPN in the pockets of everyone telling them who would make the best matchups, so they rank them accordingly. In that scenario, MSU would get in (imo). Florida is gonna fall to what, ~18th in the rankings after getting shreked at home and needing OT for FAU? They're not hopping up to #4 unless they beat the Tennesse Titans next week instead of the Tide
>>
>>63871803
We could potentially have an Iowa, UNC, OU, tOSU playoff
>>
>>63871842
They beat up on Ole Miss, which was their biggest win of the season. And then it turns out Ole Miss actually sucks. Then they lose to LSU, who also sucks. 1-possession games against Kentucky, Tennessee, FAU, and Vandy does not a playoff team make.
>>
>>63871868
But MSU would be a two loss team and so would Florida, but Florida has the conference champ. On PAPER florida is over MSU. Depends on how much the committee would use the 'eye test'.

No arguing there. It just depends on the committee's emphasis on conference champ and muh SEC.

Personally I think teams that aren't conference champs should be excluded. I don't want to see rematches, that defeats the purpose of the bowl game. You had your shot to beat the team, if you didn't tough shit. I want to see interesting match ups not bama v lsu pt 2 bullshit.
>>

M8, there are 25 ranked teams. It takes more than 1 loss to be unranked. But if you think Arkansas, LSU, A&M or Miss State should be ranked, let me know where.
>>
>>63872115
Arkansas should be ranked in the 20s. They have improved a shit ton in the latter half of the year.
>>
>>63872044
I'll take the bait. Florida really didn't have any business being ranked this week in the first place. They were humiliated today, and were some serious refball away from losing to fucking Florida Atlantic. They almost lost to South Carolina and Vanderbilt. They've beaten literally no one good this entire year. If they were in literally any other conference, they wouldn't have been near the top 10 this week. And if they were in any other conference, they wouldn't be ranked after today's piss poor performance.

That's fucking bullshit. There are plenty of coaches who could match or exceed the production Les Miles gets out of his roster. Miles wastes more talent than any team in the country. LSU can absolutely do better. Miles is a fucking retard and that isn't going to change.

Who /ACC/ here? Per ESPN:

ACC goes 3-1 vs. SEC on rivalry week… 7-1 the last two years.

Have you watched Arkansas on offense this year? They started out slow and had some injuries, but they're a fucking machine. It's a pro style offense, but with creative playcalling and passes to the TE to keep defenses off balance. LSU doesn't do any of that, and when they do it's not executed well. Les Miles is a shitty coach who needs overwhelming talent to win. If equally matched or outmatched by the opponent, we lose 10 out of 10. You can see it in the player's faces and body language. They aren't stupid. They have no faith in the offensive gameplan either.

I think there are better head coaches but we he needs to do is let someone come in and retool the offense.

They have no identity. If they lined up in the triple option wishbone they'd smash everyone. If they were an uptempo spread type attack they'd be +1-2 wins a season automatically.

Gary Patterson was a perennial bottom feeder and he brought in not one but two OCs and now look at them. Bob Stoops was on the hot seat last year, fired a bunch of people, brought in some new blood, and we're right back to winning conference ships and competing natties.

Recruiting is getting better too. Lincoln Riley and Kerry Cooks were great hires

gAy&M is pretty meme now that you bring it up. The program was completely irrelevant for it's entire existance until Jonny Football, a meme, walked on campus. He was overrated in college, and it shows in the NFL. It's crazy how basically every A&M fan alive today bandwagoned onto the team after one fringe heisman qb. What's even more bonkers is that there are still people defending this meme school today. Every now and then in a CFB general you'll see some hick posting a picture of their stupid ass dog as saying "Gig em!". God damn of every stupid ass college slogan, "Gig em" has to be one of the lamest, least educated, hick, retarded, gay, annoying, pitiful slogans out there.

How does one gig? Since when was gigging a verb? Who are we gigging? Them? I'd assume we are gigging the opposing team, but it's not clear. Why can't they settle for a simpler, more effective slogan? On Wisconsin - to the point. Go Blue - nice and effective. Roll Tide - has a sort of mystique to it; perhaps confusing at first, but completely understandable and quite badass after understanding the legacy behind it. Boomer Sooner - subtly racist and you gotta admire that in 2015. We are Penn State - a great way to warn children to run away. Hook 'em horns - we know exactly who we are hooking, "them" being the team that isn't Texas.

You get my point. Gay and Meme sucks ASS.

I am The Wanderer. I have searched long and far in my life. My footsteps echo in the farthest corners of the driest deserts. I have traversed many great valleys, inhaled the faint air of the highest mountains, and embarked upon countless journeys. My adventures know no time nor limits. And through this immeasurable odyssey, my journal has been scribed with ink in quantities beyond your comprehension. My walks are not measured in miles, but lightyears and parsecs. The cosmos is my backyard. I’ve graced other Earths, many grand, many stale. Parallel worlds, mimicking the very behavior that you may call unique. These lands too have laws, families, wars, love, hope. And perhaps the most peculiar thing they all have in common is sport. Rivalries several orders of magnitude older than all of humanity's existence. From children playing with friends to intergalactic competition. Their games may be far different, but their leagues are similar. Teams battles each other season after season.

Through my travels, I have come to know all of these teams. I’ve took it upon myself to learn their history. Along the way I grew an appreciation for their games, and a deep understanding of their strategy and rules. I’ve grasped the knowledge of a millennia of champions, losers, upsets…

And even after all of this. After this nigh infinite exposure. After truly seeing it all, one thing stands out:

There is no team more meme than Iowa.

I'm the Stanford guy from earlier - the program is really nice, and they're doing good things, what with good recruiting classes and McCaffrey/Bryce Love (who has looked really good in limited reps this season as a true freshman).

Just don't expect the most "traditional" college atmosphere. The people tailgating on the walk to the stadium today brought a chandelier to hang over their wine bottles. It's definitely a very bougie vibe, despite the ragged nature of the band/the Tree.

So was this the best weekend in College Football?

Can you think of any other weekend where so many annoying college fanbases had their memes exposed?

The only other time I can think of that comes close is the last time Notre Dame managed to convince the nation it was a good team, and got exposed so hard in the playoffs by a real team that their quarterback's girlfiriend was written out of reality.

/cfb/ is going to be so much better without you retards arguing in circles transitive property matches to convince not just each other, but yourselves that your shit teams are actually worth something and not a laughing stock for anyone with a brain.

Roll damn tide.

Even the 4-8 team managed to score on the Noles. UF the worst d1 QB of all time. I can't even say the worst offense because they have a lot of talent out there. It's a shame that one of the best defenses ever is couple with such a shit offense.

You know, one of the reasons we have the CFP is so that wild card-tier teams are kept out. No one wants that.

If Iowa beats Michigan State they're legit. They won't though. But if they could hang with Michigan state they can hang with anyone.

Beating the "#1" team in the country to win a "P5" championship and winning 11 straight will make the committee put them in. They can talk away the South Carolina loss (the first game of the season) even easier than OU or Bama's loss

This is South Carolina. Consistent 9-10 wins a year is great with me. Absolutely marvelous. Spurrier outside of the 11 win season streak largely did jack shit.

They're supposed to be a reward for doing well. We've lowered the bar to 6 wins. Which is fine, you won half your games. But now you don't even have to have a winning record. It's the rewarding of mediocrity.

They came tantalizingly close 3 times under Richt.

2002 they went 12-1, which is usually enough to make the championship game. This year two teams happened to go undefeated though.

2007 they finished with two losses, just like the national champ.

2012 they were a few yard from beating Bama, and they certainly would have gone on to beat Notre Dame if they had.

Ironically, these years that made them entitled cause them to push out the man who was responsible for them in the first place. Neither of their previous two head coaches put out any championship caliber teams.

I agree with the decision though. It's just very risky, as Nebraska showed us this year. But risks have to be taken sometimes.

The reason for CFP is so that BAMA-LSU wouldn't happen again. People don't wanna see some team that lost their conference get in over a conference champion with the same record. We already saw OSU-MSU. North Carolina deserves a chance to show what they can do if they beat Clemson. I'm saying this as an OSU fan btw. If OSU gets in over UNC then that sets precedent, and one day OSU might win a creampuff B1G and get left out for a 2nd SEC team or some bullshit.
