is lacrosse an alternative sport?
Not sure how it's viewed elsewhere in the country, but in Florida it's a meme sport for spoiled rich kids not good enough to play football or baseball.
>tfw I played lacrosse

at my highschool, the football and hockey players that wanted to continue playing a contact sport that required real athleticism picked lacrosse for their spring sport.
kids who played baseball lost their cardio shape for any summer showcase leagues that they may want to play in, so they didn't play it.
lacrosse is basically just hockey on grass.

Connecticut here. Everyone plays lacrosse here, from the rich towns like Darien and Greenwich (where its more popular than football and nationally re-known) to inner-city like Bridgeport, New Haven, and Waterbury.

Can't say which school because identity etc. DII. Its interesting. I get paid to do my hobby, but lacrosse does wear on me sometimes despite it being my favorite thing in the world. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am 29 and single so I can spend my nights doing that rather than having a family who I would miss a lot due to it.
From Maryland, was born with a lax stick in hand bro

My nephew plays for the Loyola Dons
New Yorker here. Long pole middy.
Played lax for a local Catholic school on Long Island. Played D-I lax at a Big East school my freshman year but I broke 2 ribs and got concussed so that was pretty much that. I still play pickup games from time to time but I'm too old and brittle from years of hockey and lacrosse.
I'm so glad I'm a white catholic male. I love my privilege.

No, its for kids like me who's parents were too rich to know or care what to do so fuck it, we'll have our kid play lax cause its what every rich white Long Islander does.
I loved lacrosse, and the guys I played with were cool as fuck, but man, I hated the parents. It got to a point where we'd all go hang out and turn our phones off cause our parents would be calling us about how big the upcoming game is.
We were all shoo-ins for D-I schools but we all kinda joked around how if we became professional lax players, we'd be living on welfare cause pro players make smegma-teir money. I could've been a grad assistant and make 4 times as much doing that than playing lacrosse.

Maybe D1 schools in your shit state but none of you would have made it on Maryland, Towson or Johns Hopkins.
I play Lax, going to try out for the NZ team at the next world champs
