WTF

Story??
>>
wasnt sherman's son born later that day
>>
>>63789583

They were gonna.

From Seattle's point of view it wasn't a big deal. Just get two meters into the end zone, turn around and catch the ball. Not hard. And if it wasn't for the fact that New England somehow some way had actually practiced the very same identical play in practice earlier in the season, Butler would never have made the play himself. Seattle figured that at the worst it's gonna be an imcomplete pass and they still had two more attempts at a TD (Going for a FG here, top kek). I seem to recall that Pete Caroll said that he was gonna run the ball on the nest two plays if the pass didn't work. I guess he just wanted his golden boy Rusell Wilson to have his moment and throw the game winning TD

>>
>>63789616
Yeah and it wasn't by chance the pats practiced it

Seattle had run this redzone drill enough games to make a clear pattern. Bill wasn't gambling when he put it on the defense.

>>

he announced the 18-1 owl
>>
>>63789616

You're basically saying Patriots got lucky

When the actual truth is, NE had this shit down pat and Seattle basically handed them the owl with this dumb play
>>
>>63789616
People also forget the media circus surrounding Marshawn Lynch also at the time of the owl. If he would have scored the game winning TD there would have been a shit show with who got the MVP.

It. Is. Caught. By Tyree.

so much obsession for a team that might not make the owl this year. Although they actually will.

Night

OP, you got it wrong.

He said "And the ball is INTERCEPTED AT THE GOAL LINE BY MALCOM BUTLER. UNREAL."

I know because I'm a Pats fan and I've watched that interception happen like 20 million times now on youtube.
>>
In all honesty, lads. Was it all scripted?

The entire game was a huge roller coaster. It was tied at halftime, built a good lead, saw the "unstoppable" defense piss away that lead, that final drive to get to the goal line including the circus catch (I thought for sure that was an omen that the Seahawks were going to win at that point) and to top it off I was playing squares and if the game had ended with the Seahawks getting that TD I would have won $200. All those feels and to lose it was pretty crappy. It was a really fun game to watch though and if I wasn't a Seahawks fan I would think it would be in the top 10 Super Bowls as a neutral observer because it was a very exciting game.

I still haven't watched the full replay though.
>>
>>63800735
duh
>>
>>63800762
As a Pats fan, I was pretty sure the game was over when Kearse lucked into catching that ball. Imagine a guy named Kearse catching that ball and the Seahawks winning the game, we never would've heard the end of it.

Then our lord and savior Malcolm Butler did his thing.
>>
>>63800800

i thought for the 3rd straight time we were gonna lose to a fucking circus catch. then my cable froze right as the seahawks last play right as the play broke and locket looked wide open as fuck. I left the room
>>
>>63800762
Unfortunately, the entire NFC playoffs forshadowed the Seahawk's demise
>>
Butler tripped up Jermaine Kearse on a 3rd and short on the Seahawks drive before New England took the lead
>>
>>63789493

And the ball is intercepted at the goal line by Malcolm Butler.

Granted this is mostly from Skip Bayless, but some rumors that Caroll wanted Wilson to be the hero of the Superbowl, and not Beastmode

Also, pretty brilliant of Belichick to NOT call a timeout so Caroll didn't have time to mull things over, so Caroll just went with their go-to play (which the pats specifically prep'd for)

Fuck the Pats, best/worst superbowl in recent memory (Ravens fan)

At the end of the Baltimore/SF Superbowl everyone was saying "Why didn't they throw it" after every attempt to run failed. Now everyone is saying why didn't they run it because the pass failed.
