How do you get your defenders to stop hoofing the ball upfield at every occasion? I play with quick manlets up front, and there is no way they'll win those headers.
I guess the obvious answer is to sign defenders who actually know how to pass the ball, but which role would minimise the hoofing as much as possible? I'm currently playing with regular central defenders, one with covering duty and one with defending duty.

Lads, can I have your opinions on the following things:
1) WBa vs CWBa - what are the difference in style of play, and which is better in your opinion? I like narrow formations and in FM15 I used WBa to absolutely great effect. Which of the two roles is more suited to absolutely destroying the opponent from the wings as the lone winger?
2) Wing Back vs Full Back - Does playing a WBa or CWBa as a Wing Back increase their ability to BTFO my opponent, or does it in fact hold them back because they start from a higher position and are marked more (similar to AML/AMR compared to ML/MR)?
3) Usefulness of 3 CB - I played with a Half Back and 2 CBs in FM15 but the Half Back was not useful at all, he never played deep enough and almost every goal I conceded was because I only had 2 players in defence, since the HB was not doing his job and not defending similarly to a CB (but instead like a normal central midfielder, way too up the pitch). Would using a 3rd CB instead of a HB improve my defense? Would it weaken my build up a lot if I used a BPD?
4) 5-2-2-1 WB vs 4-1-2-2-1 FB - which is better?

I really don't like Chelsea but I admire their youth set up and think its ridiculous anybody criticises it and I think its crazy that people have this notion that people will never come out of their setup and become a first team player, its just that the vast majority of players they produce are gonna be good but not good enough which is hardly surprising for a rich club that aims to be amongst the world's elite. The top clubs in the world have very few outright key players that would start week in week out that were developed at their club so is it so outrageous to see dozens of youth eventually not making the cut?

But instead they bought Baba from Augsburg for god knows what reason.
I think that's the problem people have with Chelsea/City/Barca/Madrid.
They swallow up lots of young talent but only 5% makes it into the first team.
The sheer purchasing power of those teams has fundamentally changed the way youth development works.

Of course that is going to happen and of course breakthroughs into the first teams are far more likely to happen at smaller/poorer clubs but you're also going to have worse training equipment and worse coaching so thats the balance.
Given the choice I'd much rather go to Chelsea, get the top coaching and use the best equipment but know that most likely I'm gonna get loaned out and ultimately end up at that club I could've gone to in the first place but be a better developed player for having gone the Chelsea route.
I suppose ultimately its a matter of whether or not you believe superior equipment and coaching or more first team experience makes for a better player but at ages 16-18 I'd definitely make an argument for coaching and equipment.
