Will it end now that the sjws are against it?

It doesn't matter who is for or against it, it matters whose money is backing it.

Unlike online poker which was backed by people who'd rather not be seen, not backed at all, or operated in secrecy, DFS sites are backed by legitimate money.

The NBA, Disney, Rupert Murdoch, NBC, NASCAR, the NFL, etc.. Those are the investors who are funding Fanduel and Draftkings.

It is not going away. An uppity AG trying to make a name for himself, a group of SJWs, whatever, it really doesn't matter. They will have the legal representation to fight and win.

What's with the applause? It's like they're praising his ability to speak sentences.

will they tone down the ads?
all i really care about
>>
>>63607145

Their bombardment of ads was a strategic move to make daily fantasy become huge during this football season. Honestly, as annoying as they were, those ads worked. It's brought a lot of people into the game.

The ads have already started to get toned down tho.

>mfw played about a week of NBA games and I now know rotations, usage, minutes played, sleepers, injury reports and pace of play for every team in the NBA

I enjoy it as it keeps me interested in weekday sports. I don't play the NFL games anymore since I royally sucked at them.

is this cos yanks aren't allowed to gamble their hard earned cash normally? I guess that's the price of freedom

Gambling is bad, immoral and a path to hell.

Unless it's a state sponsored lottery of course.
>>
>>63607222
There's a lot of casinos here, we just can only bet on sports in vegas.

Judging by the amount of degenerate sports betters in UK and Australia I don't think it's a bad thing
>>
>>63607257
It is, you're in denial, successful gamblers exist and your country tells you you can't be one.
>>
>>63607145

I didn't see a single ad during the Giants/Patriots game.
>>
>>63607257

I know people that make their living on sports betting. You gotta bet big on singles that are sure fire to win. Yeah you'll invest 1000 dollars, but you'll probably make a profit of 100 dollars by doing vritually nothing.
>>
>>63607271
not really the way to do it but w.e

this guy is the way to do it - http://www.betadvisor.com/tipsters/football/jeremy-price
>>
>>63607264
>>63607271

im fully aware of that but surely you're not saying everyone is profitable on sports betting. even the people that are profitable are pretty addicted though, i read through /bet/ sometimes.
>>
>>63607290

You don't get "addicted" to sports betting. You can stop at any time but why would you when teams keep on winning and it's a sure way to make money?
>>
>>63607264
and i dont know what youre talking about our country telling us that successful gamblers don't exist, most professional poker players move to las vegas from around the world and poker is huge here and on tv all the time
>>
sad state of affairs in the US let people gabling away their money if they want to
>>
>>63607109
can someone tldr this vid and does he 2015
>>
>>63607308
no I'm saying your country says you can't be a pro gambler just to protect people.
>>
>>63607340
i dont even know what the fuck you're talking about, this is a classic case of let me tell you about your country
>>
>>63607109
idk why people are arguing over whether its gambling or not. Obviously it is, and I dont see why thats a problem. I can go to one of the half dozen casinos in and around my city, go to the bar 5 min away from my house and play vlts, get sportselect tickets from the gas station, etc, etc.

Whats wrong with gambling? Why should that be illegal? Its my money I work really hard for, if I want to spend $25-$50 a week on fantasy sports why can't I?
>>
>>63607348
I probably know more about the gambling laws of your country than you do yes.
>>
>>63607374
Decades ago the US had some problems with people fixing games so a lot of the sports leagues lobbied to have sports betting illegal in the states that have teams. So right now you can only have sports betting in a few states (pretty much just states that have no pro sports teams). So while casinos are legal in other states, they don't have sports books. That will probably change soon, but powerful people like the people who run casinos in Vegas want that to stay the same so people have to travel to Vegas to do heavy gambling.
>>
>>63607471
No you're just an ignorant douchebag, and completely wrong on this issue

https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc419.html

>Gambling winnings are fully taxable and you must report them on your tax return.
>You must report all gambling winnings on your Form 1040 (PDF) as "Other Income" (line 21), including winnings that are not subject to withholding

If you aren't allowed to be a pro gambler in the US then why the fuck would you have to declare it as income? If you're making money off something thats the definition of professional.
>>
>>63607524
in terms of sports betting, it's practically impossible to be a pro sports better in US cos you have like 3 books you can use which = no winning margins.
>>
>>63607508
seems kinda dumb, although I guess we have way looser laws here in regards to gambling. Like its perfectly ok to set up your own house games, or sports betting leagues as long as the house doesn't take a rake. And as said before I can bet on sports at any gas station or bar

>>63607541
>no I'm saying your country says you can't be a pro gambler just to protect people
>in terms of sports betting

quit changing your narrative, betting or gambling of any sort for a living is practically impossible for a whole myriad of reasons. There's hundreds of books in the US, and gambling isn't illegal on a federal level, its just kind of grey and unregulated at a state level in some states.
>>
>>63607624
online books, theres like 3 you can use

>>
>>63607624
I was shocked when I went to Canada and saw that you can bet sports like you are just buying a scratcher ticket.

It amazes me how dumb our gambling laws are in this country.
>>
No, but you'd have to be an idiot to use it.

People who win those use actual formulas and shit. Normal people who play this are just the reward fodder
>>
Why isn't gambling legal in the US? That's muslim country tier legislation.

>>63607909
idk, I've had quite a bit of success with draftkings. I think I've cashed in probably 75-80% of the contests I've entered, which bare minimum pays for the entry fee, and although I do know the sports I bet on quite well, I dont use any formulas or anything. My sample is pretty small, and I haven't come in the top 10 much in many contests, but I'd say out of the $1000-$2000 I've spent on entry fees over the last 6-8 months I've probably cashed out close to $5000, which isn't fantastic, but Im not losing either.

You only need to come like top 20 or 30% to win more than you entered, and there's so many people who make absolutely retarded picks that I get upset if I dont at least cash. Its really not that difficult at all

isnt gambling one of those things thats been outlawed for a long time but no one wants to risk losing elections/support by reversing the laws

anyone got an optimal fan duel algortihim i can use
>>
>>63608295

There is no "optimal" lineup other than doing research and finding matchups and usage numbers you like.

The algorithms are used to spam tons of lineups that can cover all of the high prob successful combos.

You plan on spending a ton of money to learn?

>>63607984
WTF shitlombia? I was gonna join /bet/
>>
>>63607965
It is. I live in the Midwest and have like 8 casinos within two hours of my home. The closest is like 25 minutes away.

We just have dumb laws on sports betting and online gaming because of muh morals and Sheldon Adelson being a fat jew.
