What's actually going on here? Both sides of the ball are struggling and a good game against the Loins won't really make me less nervous.

>O-line was overrated
>Defense was overrated, too

Rodgers is doing his best Peyton Manning impression circa 2004.
>>
Think I read some odds maker say the Lions have a 23% shot to win this, so much higher than I thought. Save the OP pic till if the unthinkable happens, then that team is seriously fucked.
>>
>>63551332
Lions have cleaned house and are coming of a bye week. Who knows how they are going to play.
>>
>>63550415
nothing is going on, the packers are still one of the strongest teams in the nfc and they just had some off games. most posters on /sp/ are weeb faggots that watch more anime than they do sports and think they can predict the end of the season accurately when were just half way through it. the packers should still finish first or second in the nfc getting the bye in the playoffs
>>
>>63551415
Green Bay also doesn't exactly have a stunning secondary and you know, Megatron and all. Their playoff hopes are done too, so maybe some deep ball is on the agenda.

Green Bay will still probably destroy them.
>>
>>63550415
I'm of the opinion that Chris Matthews is single-handedly keeping the defense from collpasing. If loins injure we'll seriously lose this. Aaron simply never had the clutch gene, he relies on taking the initiative early and keeping one step ahead, which is why they've looked really balanced up until the defense had to play against actually good offenses, which led to Aaron playing from behind, which leads to the infamous Godgers/McCarthy chokejob. O-lune is good for pass protection, but they can't open or block for shit when it comes to the run tbqh
>>
>>63550415

Everybody just assumed that since Aaron Rodgers is so good, he can turn any receiver into a great one. They were wrong on that one because their receivers are struggling to get open as evidenced by the Denver game and I don't know what the fuck is up with Lacy.
>>
>>63550415
they played two undefeated teams on the road

I'd contest that the broncos are above average and have had the benefit of beating up shit teams and getting lucky against the Pack.

how so?
if i remember correctly it was quite the shellacking

>>63550415

They beat shitty teams is whats going on
>>
>>63558336
So are the patriots, and /sp/ is practically masturbating to how "good" they are.

Fox even confirmed last week they have the weakest schedule of any remaining relevant teams.
>>
>>63558291
that would easily make up for this season

not going to happen but a man can dream
>>
>>63550415
People will just say I'm wrong but losing nelson as a receiver was a big hit. He was the best receiver.
>>
>>63566932
Honestly I underestimated how much he contributes to the offense at the time of his injury. Even if he doesn't get the ball because the defense is forced to defend against a potential deep play every down he's on the field.

On of the best bomb catchers in the league. It's an absolute shame he's out for the year.
>>
Well, here's a breakdown;

-Rodgers is still Elite, really the only thing elite about the team.
-Running Game took a blow when Lacy regressed. Even then he's an up-down inside runner who goes outside all too often. Starks is a jack-of-all-trades who may be better off as a starter than a change-of-pace.
-Receiving Corps. are being exposed as relatively passive playmakers; easy to bump, easy to contain. Losing Nelson hurt like hell, but nobody's truly stepped up except in fits and spurts against bad secondaries. Tight Ends are ordinary- neither remarkable catchers or stalwart blockers.
-Offensive Line shed the 'Elite' Label. Run Blocking is sub-par, they are bad in the trenches except for trapping. Their Tackles are ordinary and beatable. Their best skill is interior pass protection. They stand around when their zone of influence is devoid of opposing players.
-D Line is all to often understaffed due to 'Psycho' packages, and even then can't win in the trenches to save their lives. Line lacks a true wide load to occupy blockers.
-Linebackers are wholly outside rushers, and the unit as a whole would be worse if Clay somehow wasn't such a high quality MLB. Neglect of the interior has eroded the lynchpin of the 3-4.
-Secondary has completely failed to develop a #1 Corner, and spent their 1st Rounder on a converted safety, then a 2nd on a Basketball Player. Nobody can contain a receiver. Tackling is suspect.
-McCarthy's conservative and spineless style is still present despite not calling the plays.
-Capers is showing his age, evidenced by defense rarely adjusting despite players not fulfilling their intended roles well. Seems to work better with veterans.
-Ted's overall philosophy seems to have hit a ceiling; it's great for rebuilding a sunken franchise, but needs a lot of lucky shots to get over the hump of mere respectability to elite status.

The sad thing is that we aren't going to get a comfy win against the lions. As long as they give us any pressure on either side, the game is going to be way too close.
>>
Facing two 7-0 teams on the road back to back has never happened before in the post-merger NFL

they've played shoddily but the cards were stacked against them, they'll rebound
>>
>>63574412
Will they?

>>63581307

Check that, we need to tank

This offense is the antithesis of 2011

Can someone give me a TLDR on what happened? I was passed out drunk and missed most of the game except the end, which is going to make me start drinking again. How the fuck did they manage to lose to the Lions?

Where were you when you realized that Rodgers is 100% a Jordy Nelson babby?
>>
>>63586702
At home watching preseason football hoping against all hope that Jordy didn't have a torn ACL.

>tfw no one believed me that Jordy was the second worst player to lose on the team besides rodgers

The same offense from the past two weeks showed up. Rodgers is making bad throws. We've got one capable running back. Special teams is bad again.

How can McCarthy even describe this as a hard fought loss? You just lost to the 1-7 lions at home.

The only positive thing to take away from this game was Crosby's onside kick. That was the best I've seen to date.
>>
>>63588063
If there's one thing Crosby is fucking great at it's onside kicks

Hey, at least the Bucks beat the Cavs last week, I guess!
