> tfw got all the teams right just not in the right order
Eh close enough
>>63482241
Iowa? Really?
>>63482252
So Clemson and Alabama will get a lock for the top two spots simply because they played their tough opponents when the ranking were released, whereas Ohio State will get punished for their challenging games being at the end of the season.
>>63482241
UNC getting screwed
>>63482301
The season isn't even over. Just wait for some of those teams to drop and you'll get the ranking you deserve. Honestly, UNC is just lucky the NCAA allowed them to field a team this season
>>63482300
Well, Ohio State has yet to play anyone as good as Memphis, let alone LSU
You can't make that statement until Ohio State actually plays those games
The committee is right by not looking ahead
>>63482301
that's what you get for losing against the South Carolina Spurriers
Gotta have a quality loss today homie
>>63482331
>>63482331
this
let tOSU have their buttpats if they actually manage to close out the B1G
>>63482241
>2. Bama
Gettin really fucking old.
anyone else have a lucky cum sock they hold on to during games?
>>63482301
They lost to South Carolina, a team who is dead last in the SEC East. Only the biggest SEC homers would put them any higher than they are.
>>63482331
>Memphis
>getting BTFO by goddamned Navy
>good
lmao
>>63482363
highest ranking in a while, and well deserved
who else beat a team as good as LSU?
>>63482384
Yeah
It's why I mentioned them
so is it true that nuts in the wind is banned? i'l miss him
>>63482427
Why?
>>63482386
LSU looked embarrassing against Syracuse who is now 3-6.
Everything is on track - a one loss Alabama who lost to Ole Miss passes the undefeated defending national champion after beating an undefeated team who was above the defending national champion. Who will be the Oregon that exposes them this year?
>>63482427
Dear god please be true. What did he do?
>>63482427
blessed
tOSU
2. Bama
3. Oklahoma
4. Clempson
5. BootyBlasters
6. Iowa
7. LSU
8. Houston
9. Harvard
10. Northwest Missouri St.
>>63482455
You can say "x looked embarrassing against y who is now r-s" about everybody
>>63482455
no team has looked perfect in every game
prime example: Ohio State
you didn't answer the question either
playoff committee had them at two(2)
B1G IS THE BEST CONFERENCE
SEC FAGS BTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!
>OK ST beats TCU
>"If they win out they're in!"
>Tonight
>ND rated #4
>Now if it's they win out and both ND and Stanford lose
Help me understand
>>63482301
>8-1 against cupcakes
NOTRE DAME WOULD BOOTY BLAST BOTH OF THESE TEAMS
>>63482534
I'm okay with this. The only thing the SEC "bias" causes is irrelevant newspaper polls to hype them preseason and for Alabama to be #1 instead of #3.
Remember when Wisconsin was favored by 4 against Ohio State last year?
Why does the committee hate Houston?
it's a clean slate every week. who cares until 2-3 weeks from now?
it's not like they're afraid to add/remove teams based on each weeks results, instead of sliding other teams up after the one in front of them loses.
>>63482241
No Blue Mountain State no playoffs, this is bullshit
>>63482331
Considering tOSU's last opponents will be
MSU, Michigan and Iowa.. they'll be a top 4 lock in
If Nebraska takes down Iowa will it look any better for MSU?
>idaho is represented by idaho state
ebin, 7/10
>Notre Dame & Alabama ahead of unbeaten teams
No bias at all in these polls.
GBR!!
Hey Michigan state fags, how you feeling today? Too soon? Kekek

>>63482663

>>63482655
So Marshall should have had last years spot over Alabama?
>>63482558
I hate the Big 12 and even I agree. OK ST deserved that #4 spot.
Florid drops for close win
Nearly everyone else has close wins and moves up
UF is literally the most hated team.
People still butthurt over spurrier

>>63482665
I think this is a strong message to quit being greedy, expand the conference and have a championship game.
Can't wait to hear Alabama lose again and hear from ESPN how they are the greatest 2 loss team in the history of mankind.
>>63482714
Because you beat an overrated lsu team?
Two overrated teams play, winner us crowned loser forgiven.
Neither lsu nor bama are all that good
>>63482721
No, but they're bretty good. And Fitzgerald is a great coach for being able to win there consistently.

>>63482706
I hope they get beat by Auburn or someone and lose a third straight Sugar Bowl. Best possibility desu.
>>63482722
>Convince the schools to make less money
Yeah, no one will do that.
This shouldn't be a CFP issue anyways. They can play politics with their other conferences. The Big 12 probably wont care.
For the haters.

>>63482767
>>63482808

>>63482880
Well there's a big of an issue...
>Big 12
>10 teams
Even the B1G has abandoned the 10 in it's logo. Essentially it's just "the big"
This is Texas U kind of jewing and you know it.
>>63482869
Again, lsu and bama are both overvalued teams.
Both literally rely on their run game and averagw defense. It just turned out lsu was more dependent on thrir 1 rb thsn bama and tjeir defense was more overated than bamas.
Also, since when is 14 points s blowout?
>>63482704
Dude just be happy we didn't drop more. I expected at least OU over us
>>63482960

They really don't want that to stop. And they aren't getting into the CFP anyways.
>>63482940

It was domination. If you think otherwise you didn't watch it. A 300 pound man cleared the line and blocked a kick. You so mad. So so mad.
>>63482901
>bcs championships
thats cute
>>63482722
I don't think so. No reason to think the Big 12 undefeated teams are better than a B1G undefeated team. What good OOC wins does the Big 12 have? Oklahoma over Tennessee, TCU over Minnesota? Texas lost to Cal and Notre Dame and beat Oklahoma, so that's a huge loss of credibility. Baylor and Oklahoma State have none.
>>63482940
are you on something? bama has one of the best defences in the country, a strong o-line, #2 rb,
>>63482704

>>63482721

>>63483028
If that game was dominatipn then so too was ole miss' win over bama
>>63482721
What the fuck happened when Northwestern played Michigan and my Iowa Hawkeyes? Are those two teams just that much better than the rest of Northwestern's opposition?
NW has a good defense that keeps them in games, yes. But, their offense looked absolutely terrible in the two games that I saw them play.
>tfw no games on
>>63483040
I dont think one of the best defenses would give up 43 to ole miss or 23 to a&m
UF turned it over 3 times, 4 if you count turnover on downs, inside the vandy 30 yard line. Vandy has a good defense
It was a flukey game they got out of. many other teams also had sucj near-upsets but are forgiven whereas florida is grilled for it. There is absolutely no way to defend this.
>>63482241
Why in the world is Notre Dame ranked 4th? They have not beaten anyone and other than Stanford they will not have another opportunity to beat anyone. If yout think beating temple earns you 4th rank your retarded. Most wins have come over FCS opponents/bad acc teams.
>>63483388
But that quality loss!
>>63483345
Cold feet. No offense. One dimensional play calling. They had it coming. I was rooting for them too
>>63483036
it's ok to be jealious, your community college can't compete
>>63483388
we can only hope they lose to stanford.
>>63483388
ill tell you why notre dame is ranked 4th.
because #4 vs #7 sounds better than #5 vs #7
Rankings literally don't matter at this point. Win your games. Win your conference. You're gonna get in there. Unless your conference is balls.
>>63482889
>2015
>just now figuring out how shitposting works in /cfb/
I don't understand how Alabama is #2. I get that they have looked impressive against everyone but Tenn and Ole Miss. The thing that I don't understand is the committee doesn't even seem to care that Alabama has a loss. It's like the Ole Miss game never happened. Ole Miss has three losses now and might be the 4th-best team in the SEC West alone.
Alabama's big wins have been on ESPN in primetime or on CBS, so a lot of people have seen them play. They're a good team. I like watching pro style football. But I don't just the committee putting them at #2.

Toxic Levels of Overrated:
>Clemsuck (I don't even need to explain myself here)
Highly Overrated:
>Notre Dame (b-but our qb is actually pretty good it's not just our wr's)
>Stanford (let's not get ahead of ourselves here, Utah is still better)
>Michigan State (#13 is still way too high)
Moderately Overrated
>Iowa (they're #5 but no one actually takes this seriously in the first place so I'll say they're only moderately overrated)
>Baylor (more of a pity thing because they lost their qb)
Not Overated at all

I don't think that's going to happen. If one of the two goes undefeated they will clinch at least the 4.
Looking at what I projected I had
>Baylor and Iowa swapped
>Stanford below Okie State and LSU
>OU over UF
>TCU over Michigan
>FSU 5 spots lower
>Memphis 4 spots lower
>Navy 3 spots lower
>UNC and Houston 4 spots higher
I guess that's not terrible, though I only got 7/25 in the exact spot. Top 4, Utah, Michigan State, and Temple
>>63483564
You are the worst kind of bandwagoner
>>63483658
Jim Delaney would threaten to leave the NCAA if the undefeated B1G champion was left out. I don't think the committee would have the balls do that, because leaving a B1G undefeated out means that the playoff system will change, thus, the committee members would probably their position.
This year, if undefeated Iowa or Ohio State win the B1G championship, they'll be in the playoff. There's no debate this year.
>>63482940
According to Ohio State fans, 7 point margin is a blowout.
post funny pictures of your coaches
>>63483702
Are you still mad about last year? Get over it. That Ohio State/Alabama score was not indicative of how much Ohio State dominated Alabama. They were faster, stronger, better-coached, and wanted to win the game more. Alabama lost. Ohio State is the reigning national champion.
You lost. Get over it.

Why are there so many Bama fans? So much bandwagoning. I'm from east Mississippi, close to Alabama and we are all State/Ole Miss despite having a better claim to Bama than 85% of their fans. Alabama has around the same population as MS too so it's not like Ohio State or Florida where the population way bigger so there are way more fans. Why do all these faggots that aren't from the region like to bandwagon and then feel the need to talk shit about regional rivalries they don't even understand.
I know all of these Bama fans aren't from the state. If you are a fan of a team outside of the state you were born/raised in then you are a faggot.

HOW TO FIX THE BIG 12
Option 1: Reform
>Remove Texas
>Bring in Memphis, Houston, and Temple
>12 teams including 3 new ones that don't rely on air raid
>Texas will be forced to roam the lands as an independent
Option 2: Disolve
>Big 12 ceases to exist
>OU, OK State, WVU, and Iowa State go to Big 10, renamed as the Big 16
>Kansas and K-State go to Pac 12, renamed as Pac-14
>Baylor and TCU go to SEC
>Tech goes somewhere
>Texas is forced to go independent
>>63484145
I am positive USC and UCLA have scheduled West Coast FCS teams before
>>63484214

>>63484214

Half the committee is shilling the SEC. Wisconsin at 25 just to give Bama another top 25 win is a fucking joke
>>63484838
>Doesn't matter it's official
What? If you're referring to claimed national titles, that isn't official. The OFFICIAL count is 4 - which is exactly what I said. I'm not disputing the legitimacy of the 1951 season, just saying that if that exact outcome occurred today Tennessee wouldn't have been gifted another title.
>Vols fans in charge of knowing what talking shit means
Jesus fuck you guys are retarded. Correcting somebody is now talking shit? Talking shit would be saying your program has been abysmal for the last decade and will continue to be abysmal into the foreseeable future despite reeling in elite recruiting classes (my hypothetical guess in that situation would be because once the recruits settle into the Knoxville lifestyle they realize they're playing for a bunch of dumb hicks in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and as a result have zero motivation). I do say this as a Stanford alum, so my bias needs to be taken into consideration, but I would personally fear a U$C rematch more than Utah.

>>63488248
Henry has Mississippi State (ranked), Auburn (rivalry), and Florida in the championship (top 15 team assuming they don't drop any games).
If those aren't "statement games" then I don't know what is. He'll also get some stat padding against a surprisingly good (for FCS) Charleston Southern team.
>>63488287
Those cames are not on par with MSU (ranked and is for the division title), Michigan (ranked and is for the division title), and Iowa (undefeated and ranked #5)

>>63488738
Wait wait wait. You mean to tell me they gave teams that were gonna play eachother bogus ratings to build more hype for the game put more on the line and make more people watch?

As opposed to Iowa, who
>has a win over two ranked opponents, one of whom is ranked higher than both Navy and Temple
>also has a win over Pitt
>had no losses to anybody
Or Okie State, who:
>beat #15 TCU
Even if you want to argue against Okie State, there is absolutely no logical way to defend Notre Dame over Iowa
So the committee wants to put a rematch in the first round of 1&4.
Neet.
While clemson remains in the top 4, ND shouldn't be there.
Having a loss to a team in the playoffs should be an immediate disqualifier. You had your chance to beat them, and failed.
>>63488858
I still think ND is out if Utah wins the Pac 12 without another loss or if someone survives the TCU-Baylor-Okie State-Oklahoma battle without losing to any of the others. It looks to me like they're not committing to anyone from the Big 12 until they sort themselves out
>>63488858
Notre Dame will lose to Stanford.
The way the rankings are designed to get Ohio State vs Alabama national championship. I promise you one of them will be #1 or 4 and one will be #2 or 3.
A redemption win for Alabama in the national championship story writes it self.
Big bad Ohio State handling business and beating Alabama 2 years in a row en route to a national championship writes itself.
Stop thinking fair and start thinking realistic.
>>63488858
CFP was made for that reason and it is still failing.
>>63488927
No it's not. The season will sort it out. We had the same reaction last year when 3 SEC West teams were in the first rankings, but they pretty much sorted out the rankings by the end of the season. Have patience
>>63488922
Lets just assume for a minute that all top 4 teams & oklahoma state win out.
So the rankings more or less remain unchanged from now until the last game of the season.
Does the committee boot ND for OSU after ND has been in the top 4 for ~3weeks?
I don't understand college rankings. Where would Temple be if they had won against ND? 4th?
>>63489011
Yes. The same way they booted TCU after OSU cuntpunched Wisconsin. The committee has shown they are totally willing to do this. Teams can jump teams
>>63489011

>>63489085
On raw talent alone it's unquestionably Ohio State. Most talented running back is objectively Elliott, O-line is filled with future NFL Draft picks, Vanett is a top TE prospect, Michael Thomas is a top receiver, Braxton and Jayyyylen are freaks of nature, JT Barrett has the single season TD record for the B1G. On defense, Washington and Bosa are definitely top 5 linemen, and Lewis and Hubbard are elite pass rushers. Those three linebackers as a group are unrivaled with Lee, Perry and McMillan. Their corners are both top 20, Apple is a top 10. Vonn Bell is the best defensive back in the nation, and Tyvis Powell is an extremely good veteran. Their roster has no weakness at any position in terms of talent and has elite players across the board.
>>63487918
>Notre Dame
>pathetic resume
Where did this meme come from? Notre Dame always plays a tough schedule and Temple, Navy, and Pitt is a better set of top 3 wins than most teams have. Nowhere outside of /cfb/ have I seen so many people this bootyblasted by Notre Dame.
>>63489159
Their SoS is built on AAC teams which gives me pause. I still think they should be below Okie State and Iowa
>>63489136
tOSU fan here, please watch actual games and you'll see that our O-line is not as good as last year. Decker as become worse some how and Farris is terrible.
Im afraid of getting Bama in the Semis, would prefer for a NC game matchup. DL isn't ready for Henry yet.
Would rather the play Clemsoning, could see us easily BTFO of them. Also JT will give Bama a hard time, if the OLine doesn't turn into a turnstile. Better accuracy/passing and running ability than any QB Bama has faced is Jonny Football.
>>63489085
Ohio State for sure
Bama will be 2nd
And I guess a heathly TCU will get the third place
>>63489136
God damn fuck off you're more delusional than King of the SEC. Leave OSU nameposting to Nuts

Notre Dame in the west would be hilarious because their mediocrity would be exposed by the likes of Northwestern and Minnesota. It won't happen though because muh nashunul brand.
It's cool though because any team without a CC game will always suffer when the polls matter.
>>63489085
It depends on what you mean by most talented. Across the board/well distributed talent? Ohio State. Most "elite" players? Probably Notre Dame - maybe Ole Miss but the rest of their roster outside of those 3-4 guys isn't nearly as talented.
>>63489205
I said talent-wise, not as much performance. Boren and Farris have had a few bad games this year. Decker is fine though Idk what you're seeing there. Most of it is a function of how Cardale has been being used in this offense. The offensive line looks miles better when they're Beck is letting Cardale stretch the field and when Barrett is in running the read option. When they refuse to let Cardale off his leash and just have him running short passes, we get fucked by six man/seven man blitzes because our receivers have no space to get open.
>DL isn't ready fo Henry yet
They have played him and have been up to the task before. They're among the best performing D line in cfb, so idk where this is coming from. Henry isn't all that scary

>Braxton and Jayyyylen are freaks of nature
Literally every P5 team has "freaks of nature" on their roster, but it doesn't matter if those players hardly touch the ball
>Washington and Bosa are definitely top 5 linemen
Bosa, yeah. Washington isn't even close.
>Lewis and Hubbard are elite pass rushers
"Good" doesn't equal "elite"
>Those three linebackers are a group are unrivaled
They're probably the best LB corps in the country, but I wouldn't call them "unrivaled." Alabama, Michigan, Wisconsin, and maybe even Utah State all have LBs with the potential to outplay them on any given Saturday.
>Their corners are both top 20, Apple is a top 10
Apple is actually one of the most underrated DBs in the country, but Conley is a literally who and not even a top 50 corner

Our run defense has been crap. Saquon Barkley getting almost 200 yards with one of the worst OLine in the country says it all.
Also last year Kiffin went away from the run game when they had a chance to put the game away.
>>63489343
M8 saying wrong things doesn't make you right. Price, Elflein, and Decker will all be draft picks when they go pro, it's not even disputable. Farris and Boren will probably be late round picks.
Michael Thomas is the lead receiver prospect in the nation almost unanimously
http://walterfootball.com/draft2016WR.php
Adolphus Washington is rate between #1 and #3 defensive tackles nationally by every respectable scouting agency.
Tyquan Lewis is leading the team in sacks and Hubbard has 4.5 as a rotational player who sees less than 40% of snaps.
I don't see how Vonn Bell being the best Defensive Back this year is really even disputable. He has been unbelievable
>>63489417
Penn State has a good rushing offense, not a passing one, though. Barkley averages 6.3 yards per carry this year and is really fucking good.
We gave up 200+ to Coleman last year, then shut down Gordon and Henry. The D line gave up a lot of rushing yards after we had the game in the bag since they were playing nickel coverages and pass rush blitzes to prevent Penn State from passing

Watson winning it would be the biggest farce. He's good, but he isn't an elite QB. The only reason his name is getting tossed around is because he's on the undefeated #1 team. Stack him up against at least 10 other QBs and he doesn't compare favorably.
>>63489757
>Henry
No
>Boykin
Not after Okie Lite
I like McCaffrey, but I think he's overhyped at this point. I think the race should really come down to Fournette, Cook, and Elliott, although I think voters will include McCaffrey in at least the top 4.
>>63489629
Evidently, this committee values ND a lot, so they'd probably be in the top 15..almost top 10. Then once they had started playing teams like Memphis, Navy, and Houston...who knows
>>63489771
Boykin I imagine is still being invited to NY unless he continues shitting the bed. And I'm not exactly President of the Leonard Fournette Fan Club but I don't think any back would have fared much better than he did the way Alabama was dominating the line of scrimmage.
>>63489801
Doesn't matter, half of the Heisman race is story. Shazier statistically blew Manti T'eo out of the water but it was T'eo who was the Heisman candidate back in 2012. Plus the Heisman goes to a QB all the damn time anymore and he's the top candidate as a QB.
>>63489085
Probably Clemson. I think they will lose at some point but they are mostly juniors and they have one of the top DCs in college football. Ohio State is up there but their secondary and receivers are a little weak.
Isn't it hilarious how everyone has been super hyping Ole Miss this season, still talking about them winning the SEC West even after the loss to memphis, and yet Mississippi State ends up being the better school this year...still ranked and largely unnoticed. They're going to cause a massive shitstorm if they knock off Alabama at home
They've got a good home record too in the past 2 seasons.. they usually only lose at home to LSU and Alabama
>>63489830
No way Boykin goes to New York. He's done, and there isn't a single person in the nation even considering him. He'd have to throw like 10 TDs a game at this point to recover from that meltdown
>>63489837
>Ohio State is up there but their secondary and receivers are a little weak

Like it or not, Henry is the No. 1 candidate right now and will remain so until he has the kind of ugly game Fournette had.
Cook is an also-ran. He might make it to NY if he absolutely deepdicks the Buckeyes.
>>63489889
OSU is about to play MSU and Michigan though. Elliott will put his stamp at the end of the season in huge statement games. Expect him to vault well over Henry.

>>63489744
Go to any website with Heisman betting odds and you'll see that Henry and Fournette are still ahead of Elliott, and if Henry continues to put up 150+ yards each game to finish the regular season and championship game he'll definitely win it.
>>63490103
this year isn't last year. don't be a retard
>>63490144
They were shit last year. They faced one decent team (Baylor) and lost. They also almost lost to Kansas and beat nobody of any value, to even rank them in the top 10 was ludicrous, let alone assuming they'd spank the eventual champion.
>>63490138
Again, look what Elliott will be ending the season against with MSU, Michigan, and undefeated Iowa. The reason Elliott is down on the lists right now isn't because he's being outperformed by any of them: it's because they have played bigger games early on. It will change when Elliott plays better opponents to close the year out with. Elliott always plays his best in big spots, too.
>>63490188
He'll need a MONSTER game to jump those two, not just statement wins. That's also assuming Henry and Fournette don't continue playing above average. The odds are stacked against Elliott.
>>63488448
>this damage control
>>63490205
Not likely, he just needs to stay on pace. They're all roughly on the same pace, and Elliott will get all the exposure down the stretch. That's favorable odds.

McCaffrey is a solid canidate. I'd give him a year or two before he wins the Hiesman. Wait until Stanford is a national contender. He has put up the numbers and is an all-in-one playmaker for Stanford, but he is getting overshadowed by playoff teams.
I still don't have a clue why people were arguing about OSU vs TCU and not OSU vs Baylor. I mean wasn't Baylor better than TCU last year?
>>63490300
Nothing at all unprecedented has to happen. The distance isn't that far and that kind of gain gets made routinely in Heisman races. You are literally talking out of your ass
>>63489948
That was me. I misread it as that the first time I read the article, so I decided to change it because I figured nobody on Wikipedia would give a shit if the article for the 1941 Alabama Crimson Tide football team had one word changed.
>>63490344
It's because TCU won their bowl game against a half dead Ole Piss team and Baylel spaghettied their way from beat beating Sparty.
>>63490268
blowing out MISS is more impressive than blowing out WISC desu. the gulf in talent between the two is considerable.
I'm not trying to argue TCU was definitively a better team than tOSU last season. my point is only that there's no such thing as an undisputed champion in Division I-A football - never has been and never will be

Not particularly. Wisconsin was the better defense, and unlike Ole Piss they managed to beat Auburn, without a coach.

I'd probably be more pissed about the Clemson/ND rematch in the playoffs, but we basically already know UF is getting snubbed no matter what as there is no Earthly reason why ND should be ahead of Florida in the playoff rankings.
Please don't act like you don't know that if Bama starts spilling spaghetti like they did in the Ole Miss game that the refs won't bail them out, because they will. The powers that be have decided that Bama is the only hope for an SEC championship and I fully expect Florida to get refstomped if the Gator 'offense' doesn't do it to themselves.

I have to agree with Dobbs. Great scrambler, meh passer. Plus he's intelligent and overall good kid.
Tennessee has shown signs of improvement. Butch's first year the team was losing by an average of 20 points. Last year the team lost games by an average of 12.5 points and this year we've lost by an average of only 4.5 points! Hopefully that'll translate to wins next year against big teams like Florida and Alabama.
Either way win or lose. Go Big Orange!
