Why did he take the job?

He thought he wouldn't walk alone.

he wants to become bigger than the beatles

It's a stepping stone so he can sucseed Ranieri at Leicester next season.
>>

he was drunk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfNYpzCd-7E
>>
He is a romantic faggot and still believe in fairytales. He's starting to wake up after seeing the "fans" walking off the stadium before the game was over.
>I've made a huge mistake
He's a gimmick coach and Tuchel is 1000 times better
>>
He was just misinformed or naive, thinking Liverpool was some kind of English Dortmund instead of just another multinational EPL brand.
>>
>>63473890
kinda this
>>
>>63473890
who is the english dortmund?
>>
Mid table experience in the premier league is a good idea before moving to one of the big clubs
>>

it doesn't exist anymore sadly

He thought Suarez and Mascherano were still playing there
>>
Man United: Basically Bayern England
Arsenal: they play such great football and shit with youth players, winning isn't everything
Liverpool: muh passion, history, great stadium and dedicated working class fans
Chelsea + Man City: money money money
Everyone else: literally who presents "Kick and Rush like it's 1880"

That's how these clubs are seen in Germany by the uninformed, average German, that should explain why when German players or in this case a manager chose them
>>
Klopp was a teenager was Liverpool was the best team in Europe and played beautiful football. It's natural that he has some kind of emotional attachement to them. He also believes to be a coach that can make any team great so he took the challenge.

In hindsight he should have waited for the Chelsea job
>>
>>63473678

Liverpool are still kind of a "sleeping giant" type of club. Financially, they're just behind Arsenal (looking at the wage bill and at annual revenue), and unlike Arsenal they can splash ridiculous amounts of cash every summer because they don't have to pay for a 400 million pound stadium out of their own pockets. They also still have a massive global fanbase, thanks to decades of success, which means that they can make tons of money through merchandise sales and tours of Australia, the US, and Thailand. A competent manager with a decent transfer policy should be able to get Liverpool back into the Champions League, and maybe make a one-off title challenge with a lot of luck a few years down the line.

Also, he's making more money than any other manager in the Premier League except for Mourinho and Van Gaal.
>>
>>63473986
Dunno why people think kick and rush is what football started off like, in 1880 it would have been never pass and just try to dibble up to the goal until you lose the ball.
>>
>>63473986
>they play such great football and shit with youth players

The youth players aren't the ones winning them games, though.

>Liverpool: muh passion, history, great stadium and dedicated working class fans

Literally the quietest stadium in the league.

I started following Liverpool in 2013 and dare I say it the fans have become shit. During that year Liverpool fans looked to me like the best in the world. I wanted so badly to root for that club. But know I realize that scousers are shit. To be honest the club would be doing better if they had better fans. It feels like the entire club has taken on the scouser mentality of feeling sorry for yourself and being a literal kekold. Tbh I'd rather watch LFC play in Manchester or London than go to Livershit.

>>
>>63473678
I think he has genuinely been misinformed about what kind of club Liverpool is. They are not everyone's favourite team, they are not any more 'romantic' that other teams. With their form can no longer be justified as a sleeping giant. Their self-righteous fans are deluded, toxic, victim-complex cunts who are responsible for the worst stadium atmosphere in the league.

>>
>>63477709
I know but he was still a winger at Monghengladbach. The Reus in Lewandowski's last season was an absolute beast.

>>63477710
I don't know if he will succeed - with these players he can't do much and there is no guarantee he will be able to bring in the players he wants. Plus his transfers have always been either weird or just stupid - he sold Goetze for 40 million and in stead of using that money to replace with him with Ozil, he went for Mikhitaryan....

Liverpool are still a big name but are a mid-table club.
>>
>>63477590
>Manchester United
>1-6
>>
>>63477772
>he went for Mikhitaryan....
Who contributed to 23 goals in his first season, and has contributed to 27 in 20 games this season. He only really had a crummy second season, when the rest of the team were performing awfully too.
>>
>>63477778
they've undeniably had more success in the last 3 years
>>
>>63477864
That;s not the point. Without Goetze there was less threat in front of the goal as he could both score and create. He is a rare player but if you have the money and you have the ability, you always go for a player that does one of these things exceptionally well.

In 2013 he could have gone for Ozil, Herrera, Eriksen and Pastore - all of them are better playmakers and would fit his style of pressing and exploiting tight space than Miki.

>>63477952
KDB was first choice to replace Götze though.
>>
>>63477952
The point is his transfers mostly made an immediate impact, like Sokratis, took some timebto get used to the tactics, then became good players like Kagawa, and Lewandowski, or ultimately proved themselves to be good transfers after a positional or tactics change, like Ginter being moved to RB.

The only real big money flops he ever bought were Immobile and Ramos, assuming €8m is big money.
>>
>>63477990
Never said shit to Nigel Pearson, roy Keane or allardyche.
>>
>>63478124
Kampl as well.
>>
>>63478120
I doubt he would have moved in 2013.
>>63478124
His new transfers changed the entire way the team played. Nobody from his new arrivals could receive the ball in tight spaces and very few of them were able to press effectively. This became painfully obvious last season.
>>
>>63478200
KDB would've been a done deal, if it hadn't been for >mouyes.
>>
>>63478140
Genuinely forgot about him. They made their money back on him though, so it's alright.

>>63478200
>His new transfers changed the entire way the team played.
Which would have ultimately been needed anyway. The bigger problem last season was everyone figuring out that Dortmund were extremely easy to harm by parking the bus, then hitting them on the counter.
>>
you all seem to be forgetting he has to the fix the mess that rodgers left behind, that's gonna take more than a month
>>
>>63478255
Yes it was needed to change the way they played by evolving the style and not sticking square pegs into round holes.

>parking the bus
The other Bundesliga teams finally learned how to counter-press and not leave pockets of space for Reus and Aubameyang to exploit.
>>
>>63478266
Rodgers almost won the league with that squad + Suarez and Sterling
All Klopp would need is a world class striker and a good winger then
>>
>>63478255
Nah, other teams parking the bus wasn't the problem. I think after Buyern they had the most chances created last season. What they lacked was finish and in the back they'd make some stupid individual mistakes that were pretty much always punished.
>>
>>63478316
it's not as simple as 'oh well they only lost one striker' he's arguably the best no 9 in the world, and they lost their captain of over a decade, plus the players that were brought in were mostly garbage. they're in a bit of a state desu
>>
