Typical fucking shit. Play with zero urgency all game then when we're trailing we pile the pressure on and play attacking football that Ive barely seen us play once before the 60th minute this season.
Costa is an absolute shambles and doesn't deserve any of the minutes he's been getting. Bertrand Traore is a way better option than him at the minute. He's a liability. Drifting out wide at every possibility and never being in the box when needed. Everytime he gets a touch I have to remind myself that this is the same guy that defenders used to fear.
We are absolutely clueless in the final third of the pitch for 90% of the game. There's no movement whatsoever, just aimless passing and hoping for space. Its horrible to watch.
In fairness we played well for most of tonight's game and the defence other than Baba were very solid. If Remy went down who knows what might have happened, although I seriously wouldnt be able to take another Hazard miss.

The season is over, time to focus on the CL and cups, hopefully we get some Bundesliga opposition for a guaranteed win.
Chelsea played fairly well tonight imo, first bit of form Hazard has shown all year. Lacked confidence, originality and speed in the final third though.
It's nice that Baba Rahman is getting starts, but he doesn't really look like a £17m player yet. For one, his first touch and passing remain pretty poor and nobody really trusts him for that reason.
Costa does run around and seems to work hard but all he does is lose possession or win corners. Very rarely is he a threat anymore
But at least Hazard is back, so maybe Costa and Fabregas will follow. Ivanovic will be back for the next game, I don't know if that's good or bad, the lads should be able to beat Norwich at home based on today's performance. But it's not exactly been a season with a lot of luck (ie Pedro hitting the post).
I'm also pretty sure that josé's campaign for justice from referees has an adverse effect and makes referees less likely to give decision's in chelsea's favour

I do kinda miss when Chelsea teams used to be able to beat teams playing solid football, but if they faced murderball sides like Stoke City, they were able to go toe to toe with them and just play hard, direct, narow football.

It doesnt matter if it's a "squad" team when the average quality of the squad is too low. Fábregas and Terry are old and Costa and Hazard had one good season then disappeared. Adding more just good or promising players wont make the squad better, they need actual quality players ready to perform.

They had two really great ones last year; one was called Matic and the other one was called Fabregas (although Fabregas tailed off hard in the 2nd half of the season but I'm not ready to give up on most of the squad)
Oscar was also quite good last year imo. I'm just not ready to give up on this core, there's far too much young talent in the squad for that. It's just deeply hidden right now. I think what has really cost the Chelsea defense this season was Ivanovic suddenly being way past it. I can only imagine José regrets getting rid of both Bertrand & Filipe Luis and now having Baba Rahman.
I also don't want to underestimate the impact of Courtois' injury. Begovic is good at making saves, but he's not as confident on crosses & corners as Courtois is
Imo we should just wait it out, the defense needs quality injection but I think the midfield + attack will sort itself out sooner or later
