I watched a doco about him. One bloke said that Marciano knew he wasn't a better boxer than his opponents so he would train harder than them. Guess it payed off. Devastating right hand though.

He would have fought at light heavy in today's weight classes. Devastating puncher, great chin, great heart... I go to a lot of boxing gyms and he's universally respected as a great heavyweight champion
