Because they aren't, for the EPL, but they were good enough for the championship, which would give enough trouble for MLS teams. Yes, but you are just hyping up two solid players from relatively mediocre clubs. Dempsey and Martins may be past their prime, but they were better players than Austin and Ings. I know you shouldn't read too much into preseason results, but I remember watching the Chicago Fire (who are shit) easily beat Celtic a couple years back.
