One of my good friends asked me join a fantasy football league this year that was made up of his brother, his nephew, his cousins, his friend, and his cousin's friend. Besides my friend I don't speak to anyone else in the league. I was relying on him to fill me in on details about the league and give my dues to the commissioner. I ended up winning the league, my friend finished in second, and the commissioner (his cousin) finished in third. Up until today, my friend had been telling me that our league was winner-takes-all and that first place would win the sum of everyone's dues.
I joined the league right before the draft and I wasn't part of any of the discussions about what the prize would be. Now I'm being told that there are going to be prizes for first, second, and third place. It's my theory that the commissioner suddenly changed the payout after he realized that he finished in third in order to win some money. I suspect this because the commissioner changed the amount of teams that would make the playoffs well in to the season and without any warning, so his team could be in the playoff picture. Instead of winning $500 my friend is telling me that I only won $250, that he wins $150 for finishing in second, and that the commissioner wins $100 for finishing in third. What should I do? I feel like I been swindled.

worked with some guys from all over the world ukraine, china, poland, england, et. and they kinda described the reason why soccer is enjoyable as a spectator is due to games having highly variable outcomes with low points, so that if only one goal comes from a game, it makes it all the more meaningful since there's a higher possibilty the game could simply end like that
contrast that with football or basketball where performance is rewarded by steady points keeping an audience engaged even if there is a huge blowout in the end

I mean, they only played 14 games and 3 playoff games. With a Superbowl win, that would be the exact same fucking thing. Plus an extra win for good measure because it's a foregone conclusion that we beat the Bucs.

There was almost no warning signs that Kelly was getting fired this year. Most assumed he was staying for at least one more year. Hell just weeks ago Jeff still had faith in Kelly. For him to make this sudden 180. It just doesn't make sense

i agree i couldn't make sense of his rapid statistical decline it all makes sense now tho even if they can't prove it this kinda thing happens all the time it's kinda dumb we as society just keep punishing notable figures instead of coming to some kind of relevant modern conclusion on these things. peds are here to stay is the best thing to do to just keep punishing people for it while every game is perpetually affected by their use forever?
Personally I don't even care and sorta feel a little bad for Manning, but it's worth it to me to see the blatant hypocrisy in the media between how they covered the Brady "scandal" and how they're covering this. It will be fun seeing how Goodell handles this.
