The Unibet Darts Masters begins today from the soulless wasteland of Milton Keynes as the top 16 players in the PDC battle to take the title. MVG won the tournament last year with a brutal 11-6 demolition of Barney, averaging 112(!) in the process.
Highlights of the afternoon session include a repeat of this year's Worlds quarter-final - where Blubby Boy choked a 3-0 set lead and eventually crashed out to the at-times apathetic Barney - and a meeting of two players who were terrible at Ally Pally in Terry Jenkins and James Wade. A quickfire opener between Thornton and Chisnall alongside the battle of the opposites in Peter Wright and Ian White complete the afternoon.
The evening brings yet more rematches from the Worlds as the Sex Pest Derby is the second match of the night. With Phil Taylor blaming "MUH DIVORCE" for his loss to Jelle Klaasen, we may yet see a repeat of the famous win for the Snapchat-abusing Dutchman. Following that, Big Vinny faces the World Champion who only lost one leg in their last meeting, but given Anderson's admission he doesn't really care about the minor tournaments, there could be an upset on the cards. Opening and closing the evening are two former World Champions against the two debutants from last year's Premier League as Aidey Lewis faces the cursed-by-Wolfie Kim Huybrechts with Autism then playing BUNT MAN. Can the Green Machine repeat 2015 and choo-choo his way to the title?
The first round is best of 19 legs (first to 10).

Well, the PDC's Q-School took place in the week afterwards. The yearly jobber jamboree at Wigan had a less than stellar field this time around compared to 2015, but some recognisable names picked up Tour Cards, including four-time Lakeside failure Jeffrey de Graaf, dancing fat Greek John Michael, Barney eliminator James Richardson and that disgusting nonce lookalike Dennis Smith. Sadly, CUBE failed to win enough points to get a Tour Card.
