How do you make friends in a new area?
I'll move to a different country in a year and I'm curious if I should even bother trying to make new friends once I'm there. I don't have a lot of friends, only two I could legit call a true friend, and a few other people I sometimes hang out with. But I was friends with these two guys since middle school, and we went through the typical cancerous teen phases together.
As gay as this sounds I really think it creates a special kind of connection I've been unable to find with new people I've met since high school.
So I'm not delusional, I know I won't find friendship like this because I'll never be a kid again, but I guess just having a few people to smoke weed/hang out with would be nice.
Should I try /soc/ once I'm there, or is this board entirely dedicated to thirsting over insecure camwhores?
I don't even know what the fuck am I asking anymore let's have a how2 friends thread I guess
