i had 2 shitty beers at the bar today and a shot, anymore and my starving ass is going to vomit. ive been listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm-Ijm5X84w recently. very relaxing to do anything to, and helps a lot with getting through each day. managed to get some $ from family for groceries this month, super happy i don't have to keep eating peanut butter sandwiches every day.

thanks :) ive gotten to the point where ive started to look at everything as a potential to gain/lose money, it's not so bad and i kind of enjoy the feeling of my back against the wall, in a weird way i appreciate the hunger because it makes me motivated to work hard every day and get my life on track. i also like drinking from mason jars unironically but they can be a little deceiving with how much is actually in the jar. i wish i could smoke weed more than anything, but i need to be able to pass a drug test unfortunately.

it's not really a problem if you grind your beans the right size. or if you don't and you're used to loose teas. french press coffee tends to be "oiler" than other methods, but if you like a rich cup of coffee that's not a bad thing

so maybe you can tell me if this problem will keep happening or what i can do to fix it, i got an automatic grinder (used to have a manual crank one, still do just don't use it) and it doesn't grind as well as the manual one, there's still a few more solid pieces of bean in there, anything you know to fix that?

supposedly the best kind of grinder is a burr grinder for that reason, but they're prohibitively expensive so unless you're very serious about coffee i wouldn't bother. that's what they use in coffee shops. there isn't really a way to avoid it on your typical household grinder without overgrinding the rest of your beans. they just aren't intended to grind coffee the ideal way for a french press, but rather drip coffee. if there is a trick, i'm unaware of it.

burr grinders don't need to be expensive but you will probably be stuck using a hand grinder if your budget is below $100 (not saying this to judge). I am using a Porlex Mini that I got for 40 dollarydoos and it's pretty good. I have been using for only aeropress though so I cant speak for how well it work for a french press grind.
