For example I tend to live by the code that if you start two conversations with someone, but they never start a conversation with you after that point, odds are they aren't really interested in talking to you.

You can gather the general gist..
I try to have a basic level of empathy for other people, but i'm still rather pessimistic and sour. I always make sure i'm not trying to protect that onto someone else because there's no reason to attack anyone that isn't doing anything back to you.
It also helps to be firm in your beliefs,opinions,desires, ect, not to be cruel but also not to be pushed around.
Fear the journey but not the consequences. If you already know what may happen then the only thing to fear is failure. Which all of us go through anyway.
For me personally, this has helped me control my anxiety a little better. Of course i'm still a relatively fucked up individual like most of you are here. But I never try to fall into deep depressions or regret because it just slows down my own progress.
It's always good to go back to a rational place as you can function better.(oh right well weed helps do all that above I just mentioned.) but eventually what you can learn from all that you can apply to many things, relationships,friendships, and people around you.
Don't try act like a saint and don't deprive yourself of your humanity. Suffer through what needs to be suffered through and grow a thick skin from it.
