I work in St. Paul but live nearly 75 mi north. For a while I was making the commute but now I'm sleeping in my car because I'm done with spending nearly 3 hours a day driving. It's comfortable enough but I always feel like shit around 9 when I'm trying to fall asleep. I was looking for a place to rent but everyone wants one year leases and because I'm only going to be working until August, I'm afraid I won't be able to find another job before my money runs out, and the budget I have doesn't allow for even $400/mth for rent, I'm looking for some place super cheap to stay. The TA I had in college chem rented someone's garage for $30/mth; I wouldn't mind paying $100/mth if I could at least get some place to go between 9PM and 6AM.

There's Spy House in MPLS, which is notable for outlining Tibet on the world maps they put on their walls. In Dinky Town, there's Espresso Royale & the used book store (Book House). There's a great Ethiopian place next door to Hard Times or Christos at the Union Depot (not open Sundays). There's another book store near Lake & Hennepin, too.
