Same reason we're all here, you feel the same compelling need for companionship we all feel, but are too cynical with the real world to have that kind of relationship with a regular person. You hope by some miracle that wading through all the shit on 4chan that you can find some other person who shares the cynicism, someone that understands the hate you feel for all the evil and plastic fakeness in this world, but still can perhaps help show you some of the beauty of being human on this planet, someone who can make you feel alive again like you did when you were young and carefree. There must be someone out there who understands you, who can bring out the best in you, who can help you be happy in this chaotic mess we call life, because you know you are young right now, but won't be forever, and you feel the time ticking away every second like some infernal march that you can't stop or control, and you feel a sense of dreadful hopelessness. We all cling to that hope that our true other half is sitting on the other side of this monitor, and by some chance miracle against all odds we meet in a chatroom and become a whole person instead of two empty shells, and that void you've felt in your heart all your life will go away, and you can finally be happy. Maybe is foolish to believe such a person exists, or such a person visits 4chan, but, hey, this website attracted me, why wouldn't it attract the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with? You have to hold on to that hope, the alternative is too bleak. So here we are, posting in a meetup thread, throwing the bait into the water, and praying to god that a miracle happens and that perfect someone bites, and that everything will finally make sense because now you have someone you can explore the world with, and simply be happy.
