I know what you mean, I'm fortunate enough to still have friends from childhood and many new ones. I would say part of the key is to not try too hard, don't give people superficial reasons to like you, and sway towards people that seem genuinely open and nice.

I actually do have friends. but it's a holiday around here and most of them are at their families place. but still, I often question my connection with them. I don't feel like I have genuine deep friendships, people with whom I actually feel comfortable with.

I don't feel like I fit in anyones life, not in the way I hear about on the internet and such. some times I'm getting closer, right after I try to grow far.
