I come here seeking advice!
I turned 21 in January, and only drank once since then. The reason why is because I took the advice of this site and picked up a bottle of Macallan 12 year, and then drank 7 doubles (about 80% of the bottle) in one night.
I only weigh about 130lbs (5'6'' manlet), and had never drank before (hence not understanding how much I had being dangerous), but was completely fine the next morning. Frankly, from what I understand I very well could have died, but I was absolutely fine the next morning. I was certainly fall down drunk, but that was it.
What in god's name would cause someone to have a tolerance like that if they:
a. never drank before
b. weigh 130lbs
and c. had very little to drink/eat besides the alcohol during that time
I haven't had a drink since then mostly because I'm afraid that's a sign that it would be very easy to become an alcoholic if it takes 3 doubles just to get me feeling buzzed.
(Neither of my parents drink fyi, though if Im any indicator I may understand why now)

It's not really a question about tolerance, if you were fallover-drunk then you were drunk. If I drink a lot within a short span it doesn't really 'hit' me until an hour or more later.
On the other hand, some people just don't get hangovers. It's not unusual.
Just an fyi though: acute alcohol poisoning doesn't always show obvious manifestations like vomiting. It is risky; you could pass out on the floor and not wake up.

Well, as long as you don't want to be "world's greatest chef" or anything of the sorts, I would think the job with the better pay/hours would be best. Though, if reputation is something you value and you think you'd get a good rec. from the respectable chef, then it may be worth to go for that position.

I used to be a prep cook/dw as well. Never have seen more alcoholics, drug addicts, nutters, deranged and out of control ppl in my life than in a busy kitchen. The stress at peak times is so unbearable that it fries all the marvels. Guess you'll fit famously, my freind.

In my opinion they usually make good stouts, the one they have right now the Shamus Stout is pretty good but if I were to pick a favorite local brewery I would go with Vino's or Lost 40.

Lost 40 does but I'm not sure how far they ship, keep an eye out for their Love Honey Bock(sp?) it's pretty good stuff. Vino's is just a pizza joint that makes they're own stuff and it is usually pretty killer.

Decent day at work today. Mostly running the canning line and kegging some summer seasonal lager. I've had too many pale ales and IPAs recently, so this sounded good. Really peanut butter and chocolate forward, a perfect dessert beer. Split it with the girlfriend since she likes milk stouts a lot.
