You get call centres for more than telemarketing. And some call centres are open generally around public transport hours, so long as you're on a major train line or something.
I commute in from the sunshine coast, I get to my office at 6:45, leave about 3. Our call centre is open from like 8 until 6:30 or something - those are really good PT hours, and the work isn't telemarketing.
Most large companies these days that deal wth a lot of customers have some kind of call centre. Even small local businesses... I've had family that have worked in call centres for trailer hire in this area.

It should still come through, I think they tend to take debts out of your payments and the scholarship is counted separately from your payments. I've gotten $0 in Austudy on the scholarship fortnight but still gotten the start up payment. Have a look at your online account, it'll tell you when/if/how much is due (I can already see that mine is due next week).
