How about a Drinking Thread?
Now Drinking: Schofferhofer

What's that shit OP? Some kind of a beer?
>>23153134
Yup, it's a beer. A Hefeweizen (which is a German wheat beer) with grapefruit.
>>23153150
Real men drink real beer. Stout, preferably.
>>23153171
Ha, I'm just getting started. Wanted to begin the night with something like and then harder later. I'm just about to pop one open. Hold on.
>>23153188
What beer if you don't mind answering?
>>23153193
Victory's Java Cask, which is an Imperial Stout with coffee and aged in bourbon barrels (is also 14.3% abv).
>>23153212
Damn son, you got a pretty expensive taste
>>23153217
Ha, it wasn't too terribly pricey (I believe it was about $14/750 mL bottle).
>>23153228
I pay 1.5€ for a 44mL can of Guinness and I think that's pricey, so there you go
>>23153256
Well, basically, you get what you pay for. If you buy a 30pk of shit beer for $15, you'll get a ton of beer, but it'll be of very low quality. If you buy a 6pk of good beer (some may refer it as "craft beer"), you'll get a smaller amount of beer, but it'll be of greater quality.
Now Drinking: Victory's Java Cask
Tasting pretttty good.

Old picture but drinking this right now. Feeling too lazy to take a new picture of it. This is mighty nice. The base Yeti and all of the variants are top tier. This was before I got my cat.
>>23153171
*tips fedora*
>>23153228
Don't you work at a bottle shop, employee discount maybe?
>>23153390
The Yetis are some good stuff. Although, most of them sit on the shelves all around town. Some of them on my shelves are like 2 years old. haha
>employee discount
The problem with the Java Cask is that it was a limited release. Something like this went to the top __ (probably 3) stores that sold the most Victory beers throughout the year. That's usually the case for most other special releases, where the stores that sell the most of that brewery's beers throughout the year get the good stuff. All depends on how many cases are sent to the state as a whole, etc.
Anyhow, if my store got it, I would've paid about $10-11.50 for the bottle (I get 20% off).
I love these threads, however I'm always asleep when you get to drinking... :(
>>23154100
If you posted whenever you did drink, perhaps the thread would be alive all the time?
I would probably open up one more, but it's almost 6:30am here.
>>23152978
Belgian Trappist or go home.
I guess it's time for breakfast beer.
>>23154111
Trappist you say?
>>23154111
btw, Gulden Draak aint a trappist beer. ;)
>>23154112
One of the best times to drink beer is breakfast.
>>23154146
Especially on a shitty day.
Makes the day a little less shitty, at least.
Cheers!
>>23154155
Indeed.
I'm about to go to bed anyhow. Hope you have a good one!
>>23153301
Wenn du Schöfferhofer Grapefruit trinkst hast du so wie so keine Ahnung von gutem Bier, du prätentiöser Dreckslappen.
>>23153150
wtf is wrong with you? grapefruit hefeweizen?
drinking this shit, was the cheapest wine I could find at the grocery store on my way home from work
listening to folk metal on Spotify and hating myself as usual
>>23152978
No class tomorrow. So I'm warming up with a little vodka, then walking my happy ass to the gas station and getting some rolling rock.
>>23152978
Side note: Has anyone ever tried Kronenbourg 1664?!? I tried it at a nice restaurant and I fell in love. Absolutely the smoothest, nicest beer I've tasted. It's a French beer, I think.
Currently at a local brewery. Their double mango IPA is on point. It's called Hamilton Family Brewery if you're ever in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Their coffee stout is essentially a SN Coffee Stout clone and its darn good.
>mobile keeps changing my ID
P-Pls.
>>23153415
I wish I could get a discount on all beers like that. All I get are discounts at the brewery I work at. :/ At least Pugachevs Cobra and Betty are really good.
Speaking of which, the local bottle shop finally got Backwoods Bastard and Breakfast Stout. I am extremely happy and will probably pop one open when I get home. But if you're ever in need of some local stuff and that trade offer is still up, then I'll always be here!
>>23154111
Oh baby, that one is a treat!
>>23154216
>>23156175
hahahaha, it's good for a starter and just to bullshit around with.
>>23156888
Sounds like quite the night.
>>23157819
Never heard of Hamilton Family Brewery. Wait...you work at Hanger 24???
I'm always up for a trade, whether it's for good shelf stuff or rarer things! My username on BA is DrippingI (that's a capital 'i'), so just hit me up.
Now drinking SN Beer Camp Tropical IPA. Holy weed Batman, this is more dank than tropical. Super piney, vegetal, small amount of fruity hoppiness. Not bad but not great. It's ight. Sorry for the mid-drinking image.
>>23158512
They're very small at the moment, they've only bottled three of their beers in limited batches. They had a barrel aged version of their stout that was very nice. Reminded me a lot of a lower ABV Pugachevs to be honest!
Yup yup! It's not a bad gig even though a small portion of my paycheck does go back to them in the form of buying fresh beer!
>>23158726
My store just got some of that Tropical IPA. IMO, if they were to make 6pks out of any of the Beer Camp beers they did last year, they should do the one with Ninkasi. That was probably the the best one of the 12pk. However, all the 12pks that came to Indiana were already, like, a month old.
Interesting. I'll be on the lookout for when they do any releases or whatever. I can't say I know that comparison as I've never had Pugachevs before. :/
What do you do there? And yeah, I know exactly what you mean. A chunk of my paycheck usually always goes back to the store. hahaha
Now Drinking: Lagunitas' Cappuccino Stout
Thought this was ok, especially for being $5/bomber

Now Drinking: Crafted/Cigar City's Criminal KLP (mead w/ key lime juice, graham cracker, pecan, and lime zest)
This is actually pretty tasty. Might have to pick up another bottle.

Now Drinking: Founders' Breakfast Stout
A staple in my household.

Opinions about this motherfucker here? Am in love with it basically. Need at least 2 a day
