I wish that there were was a scene here. I live in titfuck, WI, in hick county. And I have to be honest, I'm surprised that punk/hc isn't your favorite genre, especially based on the merch I've witnessed you pimpin. What is your favorite genre? (if you have one)
You can honestly learn everything that you learn in film school through your own resources. The main reason people even go to film school is for the relationships that you make in the business. For example: If you and 4 other students are up all night, 3 days a week trying to shoot a night-scene for a short film you're working on, you tend to get very close. So if one of the 4 ever make it within the industry, who are they going to call when they need a DP? Lighting tech? Script supervisor? One of the 4 dudes. (don't know why I explained that to you, you undoubtedly already knew what I was talking about, kek)
However, you CAN make connections outside. It's just much harder because you're not in an environment with a shitton of other people interested in the same thing as you. But, if you work really hard and are persistent, you can make those connections. So all in all, you could end up saving yourself $50,000 in debt and still be active within the industry. Maybe even be a major in something else, too. (which is what I'm thinking that I'm going to do)

Jane Doe, You Fail Me, Axe to Fall are some of my favorite records ever. Converge is def one of the most important bands in hardcore and it's awesome they're from MA. such a good hardcore scene here in new england. especially in massachusetts.
hardcore punk music is pretty much the backbone of my music taste, without it i wouldn't have explored other genres.
i want to be able to say that i don't have a fav genre, bc every genre has its fair share of awesome artists, but realistically speaking screamo is my favorite. Hence my PG99 tattoo. i love how experimental and melodic it all is, and how aggressive it can be. i'm mainly this way bc two of my best friends from high school (who got me into all of the music i listen to) ended up forming one of my favorite screamo bands ever, Youth Funeral. they ended up going on tour with a bunch of bands, and bc i was interested in the music, i started exploring the scene more. before that, I was a Real Emo fan lol. jizzed all over bands like Algernon Cadwallader, TWIABP, Texas is the Reason, Knapsack, shit like that

Well I went to a night school when returning to Finland since they don't have an international school in this town. (Cultural background meant I'd have a tough time outside an international school) Anyways fast forward two years the gov makes fund cutbacks and almost all classes are cut. I say f that I need guidance from a teacher, I won't be able to study on my own (also cause of lang.) So I quit and decide to move. Meet my bf a month later. He gets a job in my town, I also was working, decided to postpone my move. We live together after a few months he begs me to not move to Helsinki but move into his town. aftew a few months I give in and apply to the school in his town. I quit my job at the end of summer and get ready to move. He got mad one day and dumped me. No place to live, can't go to school, quit job.

I never so much as questioned my sexuality as.. forgot I had one. I'm amab, my first "crush" was on a boy, in first grade.
Then I had a crush on my best friend in 2nd grade.
Then I hung on the arm of my big tall best friend in fifth grade.
.. then had some mega crushes on some cool kids in middle school
And I was the subject of many dry humps and smooches and suchs in high school, all from guys.
Also dated my then-and-still-now best first for like.. a month? She was a girl, tho.

With my gender, it was kind of the same. Everyone more or less treated me like either a girl for how I acted/sounded/eventually dressed/eventually looked but when they decided, that was sometimes uncomfortable since it was mostly "Ugh, why you are you feminine?! Stop being so girly, you're a dude!" so it was less dysphoria and more just.. you know. I was being shouter and/or insulted at by angry mean people.
Then I went on HRT for a couple of years but I've since dialed it back for about five months now since I'm more comfortable with my gender.
