Sup /sci/. Doing some physics work when I come across this. Having a brainfart, I fail to recognize what I'm supposed to do. These are two separate fractions, correct? Is multiplication between the two fractions implied when there's no sign or parentheses?
>>
[math] \dfrac { a} {A } \dfrac {b } {B } \equiv \dfrac { a·b} {A·B } [/math]
>>
>>8196049
no sign or sign, yes, multiplication is implied.

>Is multiplication between the two fractions implied when there's no sign or parentheses?
Yes, just like every other situation in which two symbols are adjacent in undergrad math.

And physics majors claim to be smarter than engineers

>random guy doing his physics homework, for all you know he could still be in HS

>hurrrrr physic major hurrrrr

You're both wrong. I can see the autism runs deep in every board
>>
>>8196049
baka yes OP we are super impressed that you're working with Maxwell's equations
>>
>>8196080
He's probably looking at the magnetic field strength of an infinite straight wire. This isn't the Biot-Savart law and it doesn't include Maxwell's correction. It also isn't written as a vector or in integral form. Actually this doesn't resemble any of Maxwell's equations. Nice meme.
>>
>>8196049
The separation between the two fractions is supposed to make it easier to distinguish between constants and variables, yet somehow this makes OP even more confused.

damn you got me on that. I guess it's been a while

Also this equation. There must be something wrong here, since I'm supposed to find an actual answer but what I got is below.

Sorry lad. My high school was a shit and I've never seen anything like this before
>>
>>8196139
What am I looking at? The typed equation doesn't make any sense. The first part has units Js^2 and the second part has units of J. You can't subtract two quantities if they have different units.
>>
>>8196139
>>8196164

The second number is probably meant to be in s^-1. 7x10^14 Hz is roughly the frequency of blue light.

My high school was shit too, dude. Now I'm a physicist.
Just learn your algebraic rules; physics won't throw anything at you that you can't understand by memorising mathematical rules.
>>
>>8196992
Having a bachelor's in physics doesn't make you a physicist

*tips hat*

>>8197099
Sure it does. There's no legal definition to physicist like there is medical doctor or engineer.
>yfw you realize physicist isn't a profession but engineering is
