Here's my idea /sci/:

Self-Feeding Bodily Augmentation

>mass produced nutritional packs could end up being a lot cheaper than traditional meals. efficiently selected ingrediants and compact nutrition could lead to wider availabiltiy of nutrition
>initial startup costs of augmentation devices would be expensive, but it would simplify humanity in the long term
>time preparing and eating food is saved
>meals can still be had out of tradition or for the pleasure of eating. But they would/could be at a much lower frequency than now. So, the actual process of eating would be far more meaningful and ponderable (potentially leading to unique ways to enjoy food and bringing culinary art into prominence)
>all dietary needs can be met at all times
>taste is irrelevant so money that goes towards sweetening foods is saved
>mood swings as a result of hunger before meals would be nonexistent. lunch no longer interrupt the middle of the day. having to eat is annoying as fuck.

Is this biologically feasible? Let's assume the body doesn't reject the augmentation. Any nutritionists here? Would releasing the nutrients in 3 meal intervals be optimal? Or should the feeding process be constant? What societal implications would such an augmentation have?

>Taste is irrelevant.
To you maybe, but not to the majority of the world population. Why do you think the culinarily industry, including cookery programmes, is so popular now? You're nothing but a joyless cunt, enjoy your unstimulating existence out of ease and laziness.

Judging by your drawing you suffer from some kind of mental disability, but you do realize that this has already been invented, right?

That's a pretty big assumption pal.

Issue is that if you don't eat, your digestive system wears away without use and that simply injecting food still leaves you feeling hungry. Current parenteral nutrition patients still feel hungry, because the brain determines hunger based not only on nutrient levels, but taste, smell and signals from the stomach:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parenteral_nutrition

Second you'd have to carry a pouch of nutrients around with you everywhere that you'd have to replenish. Because of issues with interfacing with the body, it would be less convenient than just carrying bottles of soylent around.

You retards need to do some cursory research before you spout off about something being impossible or a bad idea because of reasons you theorycrafted up.

So it's an IV you carry around constantly? Seems like a good way get infections

couldn't the device insert food through the esophagus or stomach?

>Second you'd have to carry a pouch of nutrients around with you everywhere that you'd have to replenish
couldn't there be a timed conveyor system that delivers the nutrients? This is assuming the "pouches" are relatively small and/or there would be enough of the "pouches" of food to last a day without inhibiting the person. One of the functions of this device would be succinct refills (once a day, once every few days) to simplify the nutrition process.

shit idea

Better idea just make it so we dont have to eat or drink anymore.

Remember the soylent shakes from awhile back I went 3 months without food on those and never felt better.

it'd have to be in the mouth, otherwise you'd still feel hungry.

>>timed conveyor
being connected to a timed converyor all the time sounds very inconvenient

>> This is assuming the "pouches" are relatively small
they can't be much smaller than bottles of soylent

What an autistic idea

what was your shit like? did you like the taste? did your weight change?
