It could be, if it were strongly founded in evolutionary theory.

The social sciences are basically memes at this point, however things are changing which is good to see.

there's nothing innovative about it, it's just philosophical observation of society
>>
Yes. If you can observe more than 2 phenomenas -- it's already a science.
>>
>>8176355
You can observe and even apply empirical methods to study it's phenomena, but it's content is profoundly susceptible to external manipulation, which is also an issue with all other social sciences.

Probably, it's just that too many liberals and women study it which discredits it. I mean a drill for instance is scientific, but we will never for instance be 100% on how an electric drill works, we can spend years studying it and we will only ever be 99.9% sure on how it works, but it's still a useful tool we use everyday to build houses. Sociology is the same, I'm sure that it's useful for society even if its not 100% scientific (Nothing is).

By the definition of the word science. Yes. They make observations, hypothesis and methods and test them.

It's just that most of it is stuff you could figure out without any real effort.

It also doesn't really take into account the real complexity of the human brain. Which, of course is impossible to understand completely.

They conduct studies and analysis that are useful in policy making.

>It's easy to figure out society's problems
Not really. Shit's pretty complicated. Sociology uses a combination of psychology, statistics, biology, and other sciences.

My history teacher in highschool got really tired looking and upset whenever he had to start teaching it, so I assume even he knew it was bullshit

they suck at statistics and most wont even use control groups

That doesn't make it science. Sciences are science because of the scientific method. One step in this is peer review and reproducing the same results. However, the results of sociology papers are very often not able to be reproduced. Social 'sciences' are not science, they would need to drastically change to be science.

No.
The proof for this is trivial.
