Of all the planets in the entire universe with life (and we will assume there definitely are other planets with life), then one of them has to be home to the most intelligent life forms in the universe.
There is no reason that plant shouldn't be Earth.

Is this really true though? The intelligence can only conceive of an intelligence that is similar to itself. This is why stuff like sci-fi inevitably features humanoid creatures, if not in form then in thought. In this case, "more intelligence" is merely the intelligence's frame of reference with sharper reflexes.

It is a logical fallacy to assume you are special just because there is no other evidence.
Every theory about why we haven't found other intelligent life that involves that we are in any way special can be safely ignored.
You should also consider that the earth is relatively young on galactic scales and intelligent life had enough time to evolve in other parts of the galaxy way before us.
