Why do people say "your biology" and not "the elements of your animal body"?

It's not biology keeping my body going, it's organs and various bodily fluids.

I'm stupid too bro
>>

why do we call it an 'animal body' when there are 100,000,000,000,000 bacteria in your small intestines?

really makes you think

I could have indicated such as well but I didn't want to be pedantic and dip into symbiosis.

I know your post is trying to be willfully moronic, but it actually is rather socially interesting that the word for the study of life is used to refer to some kind of platonic quality of your person. This same conflation happens with pretty much every science.
>>

hello what exactly do you mean by platonic quality
>>
>>8151025
I mean platonic in the sense of an abstract, unchanging quality. That "biology" is this thing in itself. I'm sure students of philosophy would not like my use of the word platonic in this context.

Know the limits to your body. Understand the unconscious from dreams. Deep breaths in times that seem bleak.

I got your meaning so you're fine.
>>

>bodily fluids
This phrase sounds illiterate (using an adverbial form of "body" as an adjective) and I'm fairly sure Sterling Hayden (as General Ripper) used it for comic effect in "Doctor Strangelove", amirite?
>>
>>8151137
Who are you talking to?
>>
>>8151008
Because using the names of scientific fields to refer to the phenomena and systems they study is a widely accepted shorthand.

Not just every science but science itself as well. More often than not the media and popsci will have articles like 'look what science did', when it wasn't science that did the thing, it was scientists etc
