Wow, /sci/. Really makes you think, huh...
It's a pretty interesting question though.
>>8146465
That's why we build shit that can detect it.
>>8146463
really doesn't make you think, it's pretty obvious and straightforward.
Can we ban these kinds of threads? The ones where edgy teenagers post le epic rage bait?
>>8146463
Then for all intents and purposes, that thing is nonexistent.
>>8146463
So we build the organ!

It's entirely possible that bats, for example, may be able to 'see' in colour using radar, whereby differences in surface textures could be internally simulated as different colours.
This pleb misses the point that what we see, doesn't describe what is, but is merely a perspective of the external reality that benefited our ancestors throughout their evolutionary history.
If you want the best shot at getting an idea of what the external reality is like, then you'll need a good grasp of mathematics, but even then it'll only be an approximation.
Well, for now at least.

If a tree falls in the woods...
Shut the fuck up.
>>8146503
>what if there were a thing that existed but it had no manifestation in reality, could not be detected in any way, and impacted nothing?
How is this question anything but bullshit?
>>8146509
>that existed but it had no manifestation in reality
what if an unstoppable force meets and immovable object?
>>8146463
Nah, it just means we have to do some work to improve upon what we evolved with.
>>8146509
It metaphysical solipsist bullshit, anon.
You're mistaking human perception, intelligence and technological advancement, for existence.
Things may exist without us knowing about them, providing you accept that there is an external reality.
P.S. I hope you get burned by spilled cup of Earl Grey tea.
>>8146463
take your shit /pol/ meme and fuck off
>>8146496
For what purpose? To get more funding and remain in a cushy bullshit job.
>>8146539
>For what purpose?
To prove that we can, to see what we'll find with our improved senses, for the intellectual challenge of solving a tough problem.
>>8146500
It is conceivable that an adaption that you benefit from also keeps you from reproducing.
The animal does not live thinking of the long-term survival of its species.
>>8146485
