New cell gets plugged in, instantly has access to the whole mental state and memory log, for all it knows, it's always been there. Say we had a machine that could analyze a cubic volume of matter and convert it into digital information, of the position, and properties of every atom in the cube. (Impossible I know but stick with me).
Now imagine we beam this informaiton to another locaiton, and use some form of really advanced atomic assembler to re-make the digital information into atoms with positions and properties.
Essentially there is another 'copy' of you in some other place. BUT that copy remembers everything you remember, including stepping into the device.
So if you go and kill yourself at that point. Do you die? Is this process happening to us atom by atom all the time.
In that way are our past selves always at some part dead?

Your body is just the idea of how the cells are arranged, same as how the cells are just the idea of how the atoms are arranged.
