Electromagnetics: F
(I literally did nothing for this class through out the semester, cuz I never liked really liked electromagnetics. I passed my first year electromagnetic physics course literally by one MC question on the final.)
I never failed a class before in my entire life and this was my poorest semester to date. The main reason that I fucked up this semester was that I have shit study skills and I am generally lazy. But don't worry OP, we will do better next semester, I believe in you.

Also for most of the semester I showed up late and would write labs the night before high as fuck because I just wasn't about it. The non lab chem grade came from me not doing my homework. students who work at the university, probably both undergrads and graduates. Correctors, lab animators, and all They were pissed that their jobs that are temporary by nature aren't paid well enough. They were on strike from the beginning of the academic year and only recently got out of it. I didn't really follow much of it I was too busy being enraged by how I had to travel 2h to get to the city only for the strikers to deny us access to our education. It happened a fair amount of times during the year.
>>8090165
From my experience most schools ignore anyone with a gpa under 3.2. Since you're bordering that you need to stand out in some way.
What I did with a 3.4 gpa was stand out in GRE (95% on quantitative and verbal)
Also contacting grad school professors beforehand can get their attention. And research and internship experience is a huge thing.
If you have no research experience and no internship experience with a 3.29 gpa you're going to have a hard time finding a grad school who wants you.
good luck
>>8090165
You can get into grad school with a 2.0.

>>8091019
MCB is probably the most tedious major at the university in terms of studying for tests. So much memorization.
The content in economics is a total joke and an embarrassment to the school. It seems like a major designed for students who want to go to college but don't want to pick a major. The difficulty is adjusted for these people.
I like the major and it has nice professors especially in the advanced courses, but the lack of competition makes the As free.

They matter for grad school and pretty much any job that a college graduate would be applying for.
Just finished up freshman year, trying to plan out the next three over the summer. I have basically two options:
1. Play it safe, have an unimpressive, very standard schedule that I'm certain I'll get a 4.0 throughout.
This will make me have a ton of breathing room to pursue my own projects and do research, etc.
2. Have a high risk, high reward schedule stuffed with the hottest senior level electives that everyone uses to get internships.
Is it better to have a 4.0 GPA without taking hard classes, or to follow a very ballsy schedule that would possibly cuck my GPA?

Do you go to a shitty community college because that's how all counselors are at CC's.
They're always like oh no, pls don't do this, it's too hard. But you'll soon realize that everything in undergraduate is easy and as a result, this shit gave them a stroke.
It literally only took a month to get finish at least half of these classes ahead of time, that semester is going to go like a breeze.
tl;dr If you're taking calc 1 next semester, self study all the way to vector calculus and differiential equations.
If you're going to take an intro to physics class, study all the way to engineering dynamics (finishing optics, mechanics and electrostatics) before you even start.
Always be two years ahead of whatever year you're at so that you can use those semesters t reinforce what you learn. Literally easy As.
>>8092139
>self-learn absolutely everything but pay full price for the degree
If it makes you feel any better, community college is easy as shit without knowing the material too. Assuming you have any motivation to learn it at all.
>>8092180
>"Hello Boeing? I'm applying for the engineering position. I don't have a degree but I taught myse-*click*....hello...HELLO?"
>>8092198
The takeaway wasn't to skip the degree, it was to be less of a coward towards easy undergrad courses like fucking calc 1.
But there weren't only two options. If you DID already teach yourself all of the material, AND got into a decent uni with options, you may be able to get credit equivalence for less time and money.
Of course at a shitty community college, your only option is probably to pay full credit price to take the final. Still save a few bucks on the textbooks.

well, how much quantum did you take in undergrad? I remember talking to a phd student in chemistry (organic focus I think), all he knew was from his second year of pchem -- basically, he knew what the SE was and how to solve it, and some other ideas (uncertainty and whatnot). Had absolutely no training in matrix mechanics or knowledge of Hilbert space formalism.
IMO, if your exposure is equivalent to his, then an "introductory" course is quite appropriate/necessary. That said, I don't know how much quantum a chemist actually needs to know (and how in depth he needs to know operator and spectral theory, functional analysis, etc.).

I'm not OP, but I wish this applied to me, but I cant get a decent postgraduate title if I don't get my GPA to be over 4.0, that is because of the country I live in.
