hello lads, so I am interested in this point. Would weed help stop cancer just as good as chemotherapy. Also if you had cancer would you take chemotherapy or not? Finally, does weed actually help prevent/stop cancer?

ty in advance, btw non pic related, idek what this pic is doing on my pc anyways

no, chemotherapy wrecks the shit out of cells, there's nothing in weed that does that.
>Also if you had cancer would you take chemotherapy or not?
depends, it's probably a good idea
>Finally, does weed actually help prevent/stop cancer?
I'm gonna go with most likely not, smoking it definitely no, it'll probably make you get cancer faster.

I just smoked and I dont have a tumor so yeah fuck off

>Would weed help stop cancer just as good as chemotherapy

THC induces cell proliferation in general, while chemotherapy agents induce apotosis. One is a modulator of cell function, the other throws the baby out with the bathwater.

They aren't comparable.

>Also if you had cancer would you take chemotherapy or not?

No, but I would get tumors surgically removed. Then I'd grow new tissue with stem cells and replace what was removed.

>Finally, does weed actually help prevent/stop cancer?

It stops cancer from becoming tumorous - it's as good for the tumor as it is for you, since you're both multicellular organisms.

Either you use it as a preventative, or you don't use it at all. And using it along with chemotherapy causes the tumors to be protected from the poisons, and since THC impairs your immune system you get a triple whammy that isn't good for you at all.

WRONG FUCKWIT
Marijuana can cause apoptosis too, and it is selective apoptosis in addition. Don't ever speak on something you know nothing about again, especially not when it involves components of medicine that can save lives.

I said;

>and since THC impairs your immune system

It does this by inhibiting the production of white blood cells.

I'm sorry you have poor reading comprehension.

Weed has been researched in animals (see above) and has had studies done to prove its efficacy as an anti-tumor agent. How effective it may be is hard to determine from the limited research available unfortunately due to the strict requirements necessary to properly research it.

Chemo is a cocktail of toxins, cancer is cancer, so it's a hard decision to make. At this stage in my life I would rather live a little longer with a greatly diminished quality of life simply for the experience of continuity. If I was 60 I may very well be ready to go and would refuse treatment.

Weed has been shown to prevent cancer and hasn't been directly linked as a substantive modifier of risk. I'd posit that different methods of ingestion can totally nullify any risks posed. With that said I don't believe cancer can be treated exclusively by marijuana as it stands, but something like anti-angiogenic medication paired with it would control malignancy and could push tumors into full remission or more likely into the realm of surgical intervention.

Weed is not treatment for cancer. Cannabinoids might be.

Anyway, never read any study that directly compares the effectiveness of these treatments. Here's a recent one on the subject:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4171598/

>if you had cancer would you take chemotherapy or not?

Depends on the cancer, the chances.

>Finally, does weed actually help prevent/stop cancer?

If you're looking for an excuse to smoke weed, you're not going to find it.

>No, but I would get tumors surgically removed

Assumes no metastasis and that surgery for the specific cancer is effective treatment.

>Cannabinoid-induced apoptosis in immune cells as a pathway to immunosuppression

I've never heard of cannabioid-induced inpairment of the immune system that didn't involve apoptosis.
