>>
>>8029037

Cross-eye is the exact opposite to parallel viewing.

There are others made for crossing
>>
>>8029063
Yes, and once again, I find that the easiest way to parallel view is to slightly cross eyed and then try to focus
>>

>>8029074
>what happens if you mirror it?
The result should be mirrored, but not positive when crossed.
>>
>>8029251

>>
>>8029251
>But then how do I change my focus to the screen again while remaining crosseyed
Personally, I focus on my finger, and catch the image in my peripheral sight.
Well, not really peripheral, since it's right in front of me, but the same kind of thing.
Keep focusing on your finger, but just kind of notice the image.
>>
Ive been doing these since i was a kid. I can get the shapes to pop very quickly using the cross eye method but i generally dont see details like some other anons can.

Start slightly cross eyed with your phone very close to your face, slowly move away and closer until it focuses into shape

>>
>>8029253

That's good question, I'm wondering too.

I can't cross, for some reason it hurts so fucking much that i have to stop immediately, but parallel is fine.
>>
>>8029251
Your brain has a sort of autofocus when it detects what it thinks is a stereo image. Once your eyes are lined up right, your brain will take over, your brain will think you're looking at an actual 3D scene but with fucked up focus, and it'll just click into place.
>>
>>8028065
Weird, this one was, actually the easiest for me. I think the way the lines actually outlined the objects in the final 3D view really made it more robust and easier for my brain to hold on to.

>>8029549
Parallel viewing is when you make your eyes look in the exact same direction, you can achieve this by defocusing your eyes until what you see splits, and it should all be a little blurry.
If you do this in front of a stereogram or stereographed image, then you'll get the proper effect.

Does anyone know of something that gives this effect but without crossing your eyes? don't get your faggot panties in a twist just because you can't do it
>>
>>8029789

i said it's shitty, and it is. parallel 3d is inherently limited by your IPD and it's more difficult to do while backed away from the image, while crosseye is easier to do and can be performed at any distance from the screen and any separation between the images
>>
>>8029794
this is true.
however, cross needs you to constantly "force" your eyes, whereas parallel is very relaxing once you got it right.
I can easily watch a whole movie with parallel, but cross starts to hurt after only a few minutes.

With my eyes about 21 inches away from the monitor, I can get the images to drift together into one 3D video only after really trying for at least 15 seconds (and I'm usually really good at this).. >>8031630
No, there's just nothing 3D in those images that really sticks out. It isn't done correctly or there's not enough for it to show up as much.

There's also 0 difference between "crossing" and "parallel" You have to cross your eyes to line them up in parallel even when you are using glasses only it makes it easier to do so wearing the glasses. Oh it sounds different but it isn't since the effect is the same thing, you turn two images into 1. You can watch an entire movie like that using both methods and see the 3D easily. It just needs to be pronounced and actually there for you to see for it to work in either one.

I've seen Prometheus in 3D with the glasses and it isn't at all very 3D which is why those clips above are terrible for 3D viewing using any method you think you need to use.
>>
>>8031932
yeah, and you've cherrypicked the few effects setpieces in the film.

>>
>>8031935
Yes, there is a difference.

If you cross your eyes, the left image is going into the right eye and the right image is going into the left eye.

If you parallel your eyes, the left image is going into the left eye and the right image is going into the right eye.

If you use the wrong technique, the parallax in the images will be reversed, and the stereo effect will be fucked up.
