Hey /sci/, math retard here.

I'm trying to make an algorithm:

>(x * 0.01) - 1 = y

How can I make (1) decrease by half whenever (x) is halved?

Example:
>(100 * 0.01) - 1

>(50 * 0.01) - (1 / 2)

>(25 * 0.01) - (1 / 4)

Basically, you take x and you ask it nicely.

But since you never go outside and your pale skin acts like a flashtorch on the eyes, you're just going to piss x off. So stay away.

Can you explain what you want more

(x*0.01) - x/100
Is that what you want?

Because what you said is like asking "Hi guys, my car broke down, I am trying to an engine <random engine specs>"

(x/y * 0.01) - 1/y = z

(x*0.01) + floor(log2(x)) = y
At x = 1, the equation is (x*0.01) = y
At x = 0.5, the equation is (x*0.01) - 1 = y
At x = 0.25, the equation is (x*0.01) - 2 = y
If you want a smooth curve instead of it suddenly jumping each time x = 2^k,k=int, then just remove the floor from the equation.
