What molecule is this?
That's not a molecule. That's a sculpture.
>>7970958
That's not a post. It's a series of bits.
>>7970953
it's a bullshit molecule. it's missing some bonds. unless some nigger stole parts of it, the artist who made it is an idiot.
>>7970963
You're wrong. Are you kidding?
>>7970965
>>7970969
But that's assuming all the bonds are carbon carbon
>>7970963
hahahahahah look at this fucking retard
>>7970973
yes, all the balls are the same color, so I assumed that to be true
>>7970953
some random shit, scifinder isn't coming up with anything special
>>7970991
Well, the sections that have 2 pipes for bonds are not matching >>7970969 but that is as close as I can find to being correct.
This image is as best as I could do in finding all the ones with 2 pipes (yellow.)
>>7970996
>pic
and it looks like i added one by mistake, everything is too dark. The bond that drops down, furthest to the right is a single bond not double; just to the right of the right foundation pipe.
>>7971001
fixed
>>7971007
Yeah, I was just thinking that actually.
>>7970969
What does it do?
>>7971011
idk, maybe a component of a fragrance?
Where was the pic taken?
someone already said nothing of note came up in a SciFinder search
I'm guessing it's just art.
>>7971017
To me, it looks less of art and more of a bike rack put together by someone on acid
>>7970969
>>7971005
>>7971007
This is what I was able to get in molview. Sorry for shittiness. lol
It is "1-(11-benzyl-2-methyl-3,6,9,12-tetramethylenetetradecyl)-4-methylbenzene" it is either a fuel, cleaner, or thinner lol
>>7971042
Forgot to turn on formula
OP, did you take this picture? If so, where is this sculpture located? Is there a reason someone wanted to sculpt this?
>>7970977
>>7971017
Replace the sp2 carbons along the chain with ketone oxygens and see what you get? If I had Scifinder access right now I would. Probably still nothing...try imines too, maybe sulfur atoms, just for the hell of it.
