Hey /sci/ I have a hypothetical and I am dumb. Remotely viewing places and people without the apparent use of cameras. Purpose is surveillance of individuals and environments. How might this be accomplished technologically. Microwaves, X-rays, bouncing sound waves to build an image. Any ideas?

Depends on how far away "remote" is.

>without the apparent use of cameras

Just use small cameras and hide them

Just look up remote sensing.

There was that time that the CIA infiltrated the contractors who remodeled the Kremlin and put a bunch of small defects in all of the windows, so that they could use lasers in satellites to bounce off the cracks they placed in the windows and use that information to deduce all the sound vibrations in the building which could be used to determine conversations and movement going on inside the Kremlin.

There are articles on WiFi and ultrasonic noise being used to detect the internal structures of buildings a'la mini maps.As far as getting a full color, high resolution image of a specific place, we're still limited to cameras with really big lenses.

Hypothetically, we could use a band/spectrum of well chosen frequencies to get certain information, but that's not really what you're looking for, I gather.
