if free will doesnt exist and we are deterministic, how is psychology and sociology not real sciences? check mate /sci/

Intelligence and conciousness are really complicated phenomenon that we do not understand properly - and psychology and sociology are weak and pathetic attempts at tackling arguably one of the most fundamental questions humans have ever asked.

does this mean that as knowledge of the human body and its processes increases, so does the legitimacy og psychology?

>any knowledge about it
I'm sorry. :(

Only to an extent, psychology really only deals with the material implications of what are largely neurological issues. A failure to assess the subsystems of the human psyche on the micro and possibly even the quantum spectrum(s) is a failure to empirically determine the actual issues, though a combination of both is truly ideal. Neuropsychology is the closest we have and despite that it's a heavily skeptisized field.

its a soft determinism.

like theres high probabililties,
but in way does that entail any certainty.

also behavior may --MAY-- be deterministic, but it is also
learned
and unique to each individual.

Why would a deterministic subject imply a scientific study?
Physics is ultimately non-deterministic, and yet it IS subject to scientific study.
Computers are deterministic, and yet it is *possible* to study them in a non-scientific way.
