The sun is a continuously sustained fusion reaction. Jupiter would not burn for 2 reasons
a) there is no oxygen to sustain the combustion reaction
b) the surface pressure of Jupiter is 3800-4000 GPa which is enough pressure to make hydrogen behave as a metal rather than a gas

The sun is not burning gas. It is plasma that is undergoing a fusion process at the core. Nothing is burning in terms of standard combustion like on Earth. It is being fused by pressure and a few other influences into Helium.
