I would say that those who enjoy posting obfuscatory remarks or nonsensical responses are doing so to get a rise out of the people they're interacting with. If this is true, then they are likely to be sadistic, narcissistic, and/or manipulative.
I wouldn't go so far as to say these people are psychopaths or sociopaths, but they definitely are closer to those statuses than regular people.
Anonymity plays a role as well in enabling such behavior.
In terms of the brain itself, I would assume that the Amygdala plays a role as these sadistic and aggressive behaviors probably stem from anger, and if not are somewhat emotional otherwise. In addition, the Insula brings such feelings of pleasure to their/our attention in the act of such behavior.
