if youre young enough and youre at least a bit interesed in it, it might help somehow.
(do not look for the solutions, do it yourself, no matter how long it takes)

but im also sure the effect will decline.

I think it does, yes, up to a certain age (above 25). I feel as if I am more intelligent than I was before doing maths A-level in a year and then further maths in a year. The accelerated nature of the course probably helped too. It kept me interested.

I doubt you really care but I'll try to show you anyway.

Definition of a derivative is [math]\displaystyle \frac {\mathbb{d} f(x) } {\mathbb{d} x} = f'(x)=\lim_{h \rightarrow 0} \frac { f(x+h)-f(x) } { h } [/math]
A(x+h)-A(x)=f(x)*h, as pic related shows, and the limit of f(x)*h/h = f(x) (all we did was take a derivative of A(x)).

That integral symbol just means area from a to b. So, all this says is that [math]\displaystyle \frac {\mathbb{d}} {\mathbb{d} x} \int_0^x f(t) \mathbb{d}t = f(x) [/math]

To prove the second part of the FTC, let [math]\displaystyle A(x)=\int_a^x f(t) \mathbb{d}t [/math], and just let F(x) be some antiderivative (literally the inverse of a derivative), plug in x=a, and get [math]F(a)+c=A(a)=0 \therefore c=-F(a) \therefore A(x)=F(x)-F(a)[/math], thus proving the fundamental theorem of calculus.

Also, if anyone has a more rigorous proof of that last part, can you share it?
