Lel, before you take the square root, the left hand side works out to minus a half. The right hand side to one half. Although it is true (-1/2)^2=(1/2)^2, You are taking the principal square root of one side and the negative square root of another. Noice.

sqrt function can only take take and return positive numbers. (4 - 4.5) is not positive but since its squared it becomes (-0.5)^2 so the positive cancels out.
