Once upon a time, I was dating a beautiful princess, let's call her Gertrude.
But then I went to the beach with friends, without Gertrude (shit happens).
Dancing close with two female friends, their bodies pressed close to mine, I was struck by the fact that they didn't smell like Gertrude.
They smelled fine and all, but they weren't MY woman.

Op human sexuality is a complicated subject. It simply is the way to prolong or species and spread your own genetics since they might be ok for helping your offspring survive long enough to breed. Don't get too wrapped up and base your identity on it. I don't know why the fuck some people get so obsessed with defining themselves by their sexuality, but hey, they will do what they will. Personally I don't give much of a fuck unless I'm drunk. Then I'll see an attractive person and end up a blushing mess. It's terrible. Especially when sex is messy and so are people emotions around it. I've had too many experiences where a partner will end up liking me too much when I don't like them, or a relationship grows in a way that harms my life. Sex and orgasms aren't as rewarding as extreme physical exertion or the raw experience of natural beauty or a song that strikes your core. Sex is just an experience like any other, but when you're young the urge can be powerful.
Just don't become addicted to an easy release like sex. The reward is so much better when you work for it, no matter the pleasure.

That's a fundamental philosophical question and I don't believe there is one simple answer (for example it can't be just the smell otherwise porn wouldn't work).
How do we know something is a chair even though there is so many different kinds of chairs? How do you know bean bag chair is a chair?

there is also, of course, cultural values associated with it. if, since you are a little kid, you see people attributing a lot of value to something, you will just assume this thing has value without questioning it.
