Alright /sci/ I've been looking at RITEG tech for a while now and I've been wondering this. Besides the half life of under 3 years is there any other reason Fe-55 shouldn't be used?

It's a weak gamma (xray) emitter. Xrays don't heat things very well - that's why most RTGs use alpha or beta emitters.
