I would like to learn more about chemistry in a casual way. What are some good YouTube channels for that?

NurdRage is a chemist that puts out cool and exciting videos, yet still respects the chemistry and will teach it.

Applied Science is another excellent channel, but his videos cover all physical sciences. Just go onto his channel and select the chemistry playlist.

i work as a senior research chemist at GrĂ¼nenthal (one of the rare examples of an ethical pharmaceutical company). currently i'm trying to modify our manufacturing-process for vaccines, so that they don't cause autism. if i have learned one thing in my very successful career in chemistry, it's this: be very rigorous about nomenclature. for example, don't make a fool of yourself by pronouncing phenol as "fenol", its called "peenol".

"Periodic Videos" is maybe a little more entertaining than educational. Still, worth a look.

Tyler DeWitt is pretty good.

He explains Chemical concepts to you like you're retarded, but if that's what you want he's your man.

It's good clean synthesis techniques, explaining you how to do stuff practically and where to get it from. You will probably not learn as much about chemistry in theory but at least you get the reaction schemes and a brief explanation why the synthesis at hand works that way, and it gives you an insight into how it is put into practice.

Oh lord. Thanks for the pasta

You could try some some of the more formal stuff like MIT's opencourseware
