Trying to describe the opposite thing, what would happen if aliens visited us.
Porn would be drawn and made but would the government try to hide it from the visitors, among a lot of other stuff?

Good one, OP.

>what would happen if aliens visited us.
The thing is, if FTL travel(for you need FTL to travel to distant worlds) is possible, then why haven't they visited us already? Are there perhaps no aliens at all, and there is only life on Earth? Unlikely, I would say, for universe is far too big a place. Do you think, that if they exists, they haven't developed interstellar travel yet? Also, unlikely, because life could have developed far earlier that us. Or maybe, life usually destroys itself, somehow, before they have a change to venture into interstellar space? No idea, I'll leave that to the more pessimistic of the lot.

>if FTL travel(for you need FTL to travel to distant worlds) is possible, then why haven't they visited us already?
Because the universe is an incomprehensibly big place, and we are but one tiny insignificant planet amongst trillions of trillions of trillions.

>tfw FTL travel isn't fast enough

You have the means to visit every house in your street, but do you? There are probably many planets with much more interesting organisms than earth has to offer.
>>
>>7809436
But surely we would have detected something somewhere? A probe of some kind, some kind of signature anything. I get that universe is big, but who says life could have developed so far from us that it's difficult to accidentally stumble upon us?
>>
>>7809445
You can't possibly tell me that a race so advanced to have developed FTL wouldn't be interested in the evolution and the development of life on some other planet? They're obviously scientists with a huge curiosity and penchant for exploitation
>>
>>7809452
Meant to say exploration, but sure exploitation works as well

I don't think you understand just how big it is.
Even if we were to find something at the closest star, Proxima Centauri, it would take four years for the scan to reach the object and another four years to come back to Earth.
Stars that are further away could take decades, centuries, even millennia before we get any data from them.

Not to mention, FTL travel doesn't really mean much. It could just mean "fast enough to conveniently travel between stars in a globular", it doesn't necessarily mean "fast enough to travel to stars that are several light years apart".

Face it, if anything's out there, we're hundreds of years away from discovering it and it's likely hundreds of years away from discovering us, and that's assuming it's even in our galaxy, anything in Andromeda or further will likely never be found, even if the human race survives for tens of thousands of years.

There's no reason to believe we're unimpressive on the lifeform front. We don't have any way to measure how common or uncommon our evolution was.

transcript from apollo 11 as they landed on the moon:

Astronaut 1: But what is that?

Astronaut 2: Do you have an explanation?

Houston: Do not worry, stick to the program!

Astronaut 1: My God, it’s amazing, that’s great, do not you could ever imagine!

Houston: We know this, go to the other side!

Astronaut 1: What the hell is that? It’s amazing …… God … but what is it? So, you tell me?

Houston: Change frequency, use Tango, Tango!

Astronaut 1: Then it is a form of life, that one!

Houston: Change frequency.

Houston: Use Tango Bravo, Bravo Tango, choose Jezebel, Jezebel!

Astronaut: …… yes! Matutto … .. this is incredible!

Houston: Switch on Bravo Tango, Tango Bravo!

At this point the connection is broken.

transcript from Buzz Aldrin:

Professor: What really happened out of Apollo 11?

Buzz Aldrin: An amazing thing, even though we have always known of this possibility. The fact is that they (aliens) have ordered us to turn away! .

Professor: What do you mean “warned to move away”?

Buzz Aldrin: I can not go into details, there are structures on the Moon, and not ours. I can only say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology. Wow if you were big! … And menacing!

Professor: But NASA also sent to the moon missions after Apollo 11 ….

Buzz Aldrin: Naturally, NASA had already announced at that time, and could not risk panic on Earth .

You young snipper snappers are just pulling letters out of your asses and calling them words.

No. Requests for documented evidence are always genuine. Requests for other types of evidence aren't necessarily benign.
>>
>>7809426
The obvious conclusion: FTL travel isn't something that can be achieved; sublight travel far too uneconomical. Everybody dies on their home rock, except maybe those few out of millions that get to fuck around in expensive space programs.

We already broadcast a warning to alien life about what would happen if aliens contact us.
